INF Christian Martin (A) & OF Jose Cordoba (A) have been activated from the 7-day IL.
Clemente and Burns have shown brilliance this season in flashes....and have been god awful at other times. Peoria's pitching staff needs an enema. I hope these two can show more brillance than God Awful.
some filler signings....the last ones have sucked, I hope this bunch is better. Ernie Day has been awful for PMB.

We have signed RHPs Domenic Picone & Zeke Wood to minor league contracts and assigned them to Palm Beach (A).
Picone, 24, was 2-5 with a 4.56 ERA in 10 games (9 starts) with Hagerstown of the Atlantic League, leading the league in strikeouts before his signing.
Wood, 25, appeared in 19 games this season with Cleburne of the American Association, posting a 2.11 ERA and 33 SO in 21.1 IP.

Padilla is 1 for 2 today. He is hitting .276 now on the season and .355 over his last 20 games.
very respectable for the 17y.o.
Think he’ll get moved up to Palm Beach at some point this year?
Yes...I believe he will, probably a week after the draft? That's when FCL ends, I believe. There's no reason for him to stop playing. His OBP is incredible the last two seasons.... .391 and .382. I would promote him at the end of the FCL season, the latest

What I saw this weekend, FWIW...if you want to know:
Roby flashed some pretty good arm side action on his fastball, especially to RHB, running it in like a cutter to them, while maintaining his velocity around 93-95 on the pitch. A few times in the 1st inning, when he failed to get the movement on the fastball he was hit really hard. Settled in after the 1st inning, and got easy ground balls for the next four inning. When his fastball is on like that to RHB, he's pretty dominant. The contact is weak if it at all.
On Sunday, Mathews was able to locate his fastball much better than he did on Tuesday. With the fastball around the edges of the zone, the change up really played well. Comes out of his hand like a fastball, then the bottom falls out. Batters were committed to swinging thinking it was a fastball with 2 strikes. When he isn't locating the FB the change up is ineffective and Walks ensue.
I was encouraged by both, and frankly, I was a complete fanboy getting to see them both in person. I probably embarrassed the wife nonstop with my muttering the whole game
She chose you -- that's part of the deal. I am sure she never embarasses you either.... sounds like you had fun.
Braden Davis ~ 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K ....22 pitches, 15 strikes
Christian Martin leads off
Davis leaving sliders very high , not being burnt by that...yet. 2 K's off high sliders...one swinging well above the zone, one just fell into the zone.
