Good job not telling them their son is worthless since he’s not a top-5 pick..
That got a good laugh out of me!

Man, that's a little harsh, don't you think? I'm not an AHole.

I've never said that everybody has to be a TOP5 pick. My thought is that I want our team to be like every other team. I want a marquis player that we can all dream about.

Why do I want a marquis player? So that my city has a special talent to look forward to at every game. So that Dvorsky and the rest can be on memorable winning teams. Molina is not remembered without Pujols. McCarver is not remembered without Gibson.

Maybe all of us will be happy?! Carbonneau has a chance to be very special marquis player. On 3-on-3, single-handedly he stole the puck near the top of the net, stickhandled past 2 defenseman, and SOMEHOW shot it past the goalie. All 3 maneuvers were unbelievable and magic and happened in a span of a couple seconds. I and the rest of the crowd were just honestly stunned by what had happened. It was a "what the hell just happened kind of a moment.".

Just teasing you mostly.

And I don’t disagree with your desire for a superstar. Just don’t agree with your critiques of the current situation for the most part or how you spam the the board with stuff.

But I do agree Carbonneau has some real talent. I’d like to see him work on his playmaking some but there’s no denying he has an ability to score and make offensive plays.

That said, I saw the play you’re describing on Twitter and the two d-men you described were Susuyev and Fyodorov, two Russian forwards, and they couldn’t have played that any worse IMO. But that’s what these camps are for. To see where guys are at, who needs to work on what etc. To separate the prospects from the suspects.

Where is the play on Twitter? Can you send link?

The guy standing next to me filmed it with his phone, and I was going to ask him to send it to me, but then I found out it was his Dad. So I didn't want to worry them so I just said "Wow, that was a great play!" His Mom and Dad were beaming.

Fair enough. I have been a bit grouchy at times. Maybe today will kick me into some different mode.

You win the internet for the day MN. Top notch Danny. Top notch.

And as to the bolded I only saw it bc I keep this Chad on ignore. I have to disagree with the bolded Karen. You are an ahole. And a liar. And you spam the (bleep) out of the board while moving goalposts. You add nothing to the discourse with an agenda that at best can be described as idiotic and at worst, trolling. You've promised to leave, twice, and then you feebly attempt to try to laugh it off. You are also have a history doing this same (bleep) on CA with the spamming and trolling ( the civil war stuff that many of us are aware of that you continue to deny).

You can reply all you want mongo but I ain't gonna read it. Yep, this is passive aggressive at it's finest. You get your jollies your way, I get mine this way. And you got (buzz) slapped by the boards best poster. He's 1989 Mike Tyson and you are Marvis Frazier in this little dance. He nicely said "just teasing you, mostly." Not going to put words in his mouth because he is far too polite but anyone reading him or you regularly knows exactly what he was doing. You should consider taking that to heart. You won't.

I never denied anything that I said on CA. I mean what I say, and say what I mean. I bet that you can't remember anything that I said on CA that was untrue. Just like here on BluesTalk :). I'm just the messenger.

I'm curious to hear what others think.

I personally don't see the NHL in his future. Maybe I didn't see enough, and I'm no hockey evaluator, but that is what I see. I'd love to be wrong, as he is a very likable kid, but he simply doesn't have the body frame for it, nor the Hockey sense.

If someone sees something different than this now, please let us know what you see that is great. I would love to hear it.

The other challenge is that our Defensemen are generally HUGE. It would be very hard for any normal-sized person to glow among those trees, and Jiricek is an exceptionally slight build.

They ended a bit early today, around 1:05. I’m definitely not one of the prospect experts but here’s my takeaways.

- Jiricek looks bigger. Strong skater. Still lost some physical battles too easily
- Stancl and Prkarcik look like NHL players. Stancl is close IMHO.
- Ralph doesn’t seem like a great skater, but otherwise he’s a mountain of a man
- Carbonneau scored a spin-o-Rama goal that was sick. I think it was Lindstein he beat, but missed the number. Also can see why his knock was trying to do too much. Tried to walk guys a lot.
- Lindstein is so smooth and good positionally. Had trouble in the net front drill physically.
- Jecho is not a good skater and not sure he’ll make it.

This camp to me lacks high end skill as compared to prior years. Been coming for years, and this crop all seems like tier 2 players. Middle six forwards and middle to bottom pair Dmen. Some will be good NHL players, but we seem to lack top end guys.

I agree with a lot of this. Jiricek however to me has not stood out. (I only went mon and tues, I’m going tomorrow)

The standouts to me have been:

Lindstein- he will get called up sooner than later. Smooth
Carbonneau- totally agree doing too much
Fyodorov- feisty, good skater, fun to watch
Stancl- big and not afraid to shoot.
Pekarcik- great on boards and strong on the puck
