I guess this fact didn't come out in the pre-draft interviews.

Cluster?

Carbonneau is a toe-dragger, like Kyrou. If you watched his highlight video, like Kyrou, he can do a lot of other things very well, too, skill things. If you read the scouting reports you'd know he sometimes tends to do too much by himself offensively and turns the puck over. Primarily he scores goals, a lot of them, from virtually anywhere in the offensive zone. He is potential all-star raw material, like Kyrou.

Keep in mind Kyrou is a second round draft pick, he wasn't viewed as a top-5, top-10, or even a first rounder. The Blues were patient with guys like Kyrou, Bolduc, and Snuggerud, I trust they will teach this young man how to play pro hockey. He is NOT Kyrou, he just shares a passion to create and score goals.

When I watched his draft package ... and other info ... I drew TJ Oshie comparisons.

I know. I know.

My comment was mostly for the sake of comedy. Funny that KSDK opens with "trading Kyrou", and finishes with "Kyrou love". What are the chances?

That said, I've heard some reviews say that Carbonneau does not forecheck consistently... My guess is that he will be OK because he is competitive and likes football.

I hope the Carbonneau heads to a good college program where they can teach him to love both ends of the rink.

Yeah. He did SAY that about Kyrou, but I never would have connected them just by watching the film. The toe dragging thing was in one of the scouting reports, he clearly has much more in his arsenal.

the Q is a more offense oriented league. It is certainly not known for physicality like the Western League. I expect him to land at BC. He needs exposure to a more NHL style league with more contact and focus on forecheck.

Lesson #1 for Carbonneau.
Do not mention Kyrou's name in St Louis--unless you're wanting to draw closer to pitchforks and torches.

Lesson #1 for ASOGG
Maybe I need to adjust my helmet regarding Kyrou. :)
