I’m in favor. Neither are a fit for the rebuild.

Re: DFA Fedde and Mikolas
Fedde fell off a cliff the last 2 starts. Mikolas has been up and down. McGreevy seems ready. He should fill one of those slots.
Re: DFA Fedde and Mikolas
Miles takes up innings until someone can replace him... and there will be someone soon.
Fedde needs to be in bullpen to get right enough to trade away. Anything for this lost trade (Tommy E) is an addition by subtraction.

Re: DFA Fedde and Mikolas
Fedde's next start would be Sunday against the Cubs and Mikolas Friday against the Cubs. McGreevy last pitched June 24 against the Cubs where he did not do well. I don't think they can recall McGreevy for 10 days. So the next time he can pitch is July 4, which is Friday. While he did not pitch well against the Cubs last time, I think they should have him pitch one of those two starts this weekend and then take the turn of the other one the following week. So start McGreevy on Friday and let Fedde make his start on Sunday. Then have McGreevy pitch again the following Sunday in place of Fedde and just leave him on the roster so he can make both starts. Svanson will have to go down to make room. If he is successful in both starts and Fedde and Mikolas struggle in their starts, they can figure out what direction to move over the all star break. They are not going to DFA both as they do not have the depth to do that. But, they can certainly skip one turn each in the next two weeks and go from there.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 22:15 pm Fedde fell off a cliff the last 2 starts. Mikolas has been up and down. You could go with a bullpen start in Pittsburgh on Wednesday (Matz or someone from Memphis). Push Gray to Friday. That gives Liberatore an extra day's rest for Saturday, then follow with Mikolas on Sunday. McGreevy could slot into Fede's spot after that. It would set your rotation to align with there order based on performance with Gray & Liberatore at 1&2.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 23:27 pmFedde's next start would be Sunday against the Cubs and Mikolas Friday against the Cubs. Possibly. Not sure how much drag Fedde's dud had on the bullpen today. They do have a day off on Thursday. If you do that, you probably need at least two innings each from Matz, Leahy and O'Brien. Fedde has been a complete bust for us...JuanAgosto wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 00:11 amYou could go with a bullpen start in Pittsburgh on Wednesday (Matz or someone from Memphis). Push Gray to Friday. Re: DFA Fedde and Mikolas
As was discussed in the offseason, the Cardinals mistake isn't going to have been trading for Fedde. It's going to be not having "sold high" on him last winter if there was interest by other teams in acquiring him.

When's the last time the Cardinals " sold high " ?mattmitchl44 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 05:28 am As was discussed in the offseason, the Cardinals mistake isn't going to have been trading for Fedde. Exactly he had value….was old…..was cheap….perfect chip to use. BDW/MO NEVER ahead of the gamemattmitchl44 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 05:28 am As was discussed in the offseason, the Cardinals mistake isn't going to have been trading for Fedde. I can see no taker for Miles/Matz. Miles should have been DFA’d….better options

He wasn't moved because he was #1 cheap and #2 Mo is reactive instead of proactive. They decided it was easier to get through the rebuild with him. They were expecting to lose this season.Goldfan wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 08:45 amExactly he had value….was old…..was cheap….perfect chip to use.
