Re: Granlund
I think he would be a solid get.
He ia firmly a middle 6 forward and likely centers our 3rd line.
He would be an upgrade on Sunny but very much a placeholder for Dvorsky.
Id still like us to sign Faksa too.
Buch Thomas Snuggy
Holloway Schenn Kyrou
Neighbours Granlund Bolduc
Toro Faksa Sunny/Walker
Dvorsky/Texier/Joseph to battle for final spot (id look to trade Texier/Joseph mind).

Re: Granlund
He’s solid if unspectacular. Probably bumps Sunny to 4c and I’d much rather have Faksa.
Re: Granlund
Don't think you could afford Granlund and Faksa, unless Faksa falls through the cracks and doesn't get what he deserves. Or you convince him to go the PTO route and sign for more after the season starts.
Re: Granlund
Would have to find a way to move Joseph or Texier probably.

Re: Granlund
I fear the price and term on granlund is going to go up. Dallas wants to resign him (among others). I like him but not if you have to overpay especially on term.

Dallas is out they don't have the cap space.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 08:13 am I fear the price and term on granlund is going to go up. Dallas wants to resign him (among others). I like him but not if you have to overpay especially on term.
However, yes once the price goes above a specific amount, say 5 million it's time to bow out.
Re: Granlund
I'd rather keep Joseph over Sunny................he just doesn't do much for me at this point and it's maddening to see him on the PP!!!
Re: Granlund
How much is Granlund looking to make? My guess is somewhere in the $5M range.
Blues have $1.6M in cap space. To sign him and make no other moves, we would have to put two of Texier, Joseph, and Leddy on waivers on the first day of the season when we put Krug on LTIR to expand our cap space.
If we make no other moves, Granlund will have to be a mid-6 C for us. He is poor on the draw, but I'm not sure about the rest of his game to say whether or not he's a good fit there. Seems like he would be good as a winger, and especially on the PP. Will he sign a 1-year deal with us? Or will we be in a situation where he is blocking Dvorsky/Dean/other prospects?

Re: Granlund
TSN also reported that he and the Stars have mutual interest, but Dallas would have to make moves in order to free up money.
Hopefully we don’t get fixated on him and he re-signed in D
Edit: LeBrun is now reporting he’ll hit the market because they won’t be able to compete with any offers he’ll get.

Re: Granlund
Decent player but if Granlund costs even close to what I think it’s going to cost to sign him then I have no interest. I’d rather go after Dvorak…who might also end up costing too much himself. But seems a more reasonable get IMO.
I’d like for the Blues to find a way to pry McBain out of Utah. He became a RFA today. The Blues would have to yet again get their 2nd back from Pittsburgh if they wanted to offer sheet him (doubt they’d deem him worth of the competition level that would garner a 1st and 3rd). It seems unlikely to me PIT would be willing to delay that asset again but maybe they could work out a trade with Utah instead. Probably unlikely as Utah absolutely wants to keep McBain but maybe if they know an offer sheet is coming, the Blues can offer more than a 2nd so Utah doesn’t have to worry about dealing with matching a high offer sheet.

Re: Granlund
I keep leaning more and more towards just going with Dvorsky to fill the hole.
Re: Granlund
I don’t want to go haywire for him but Granlund would be an excellent fit here. 40 assist guy. Plug him between Jake and Bolduc and that line will cave teams in as the 3rd wave.

Re: Granlund
yup.. and it's not like our 3rd line gets sheltered minsHarry S Deals wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 09:19 amIm not sure Dvorsky is going to be ready out of camp that would somewhat surprise me but if he earns it thats great news for the franchise.
Re: Granlund
I think it's probably close and I'm OK with bringing some else in but the timing is not ideal. I don't really want a 3 year deal that makes up better for one of the years and worse the other 2. I'd rather be worse this year and better the next 2Harry S Deals wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 09:19 amIm not sure Dvorsky is going to be ready out of camp that would somewhat surprise me but if he earns it thats great news for the franchise.
