Surprise! Looks like Petro's calling it a career.

Post by TAFKAP »

He's hoping to just get back to a "Normal quality of life".

So glad we didn't sign him. Good luck in life my dude. Enjoy the Torey Krug retirement plan

Do you wonder how much the weight of Benn sitting on him for an extended period led to his hip issues?

Interesting thought, but honestly I don't care bc Petro won a Cup as our Captain and Jamie Benn is on a $1M+ incentives contract to keep his dream of winning one alive.

Not hating on Petro, but I will hate on Vegas. Their circumventing of the rules is so blatant…if I were an NHL executive or - gasp - the Commissioner, I’d be effing offended.

I don't think so. The way the announcement was done, I think it's a Krug type deal. It wouldn't do any good next year anyway. The new LTIR rules will be in place and he can't go back to LTIR after magically healing for the playoffs. He looked washed up at the end of last year.

By the way, for those who think the no state tax thing doesn’t matter, here is exhibit 13788. #1 dman free agent ALSO prefers to go to Vegas. Wonder why…

Just kidding. There isn’t much I would trade for the Blues winning the Stanley Cup. By the way, the two teams I hate more than any others—-the Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators.

Last season's Preds were pity-ful.

It will take a long time for me to get over the whining, diving, crying Predators. Those are my issues though.

The new rules don't go into effect next season.

Last season just ended, this season starts in September. Next season starts September 2026. At least that's what I was referring to in that post.

Could of been a legend in his bride's home town. Instead, he is a just another guy on a Stanley Cup team. [fork] him 💯

I still don’t see why he would be in the NHL Hall of Fame. I really do not believe his number should be retired in StL. And definitely not a statue out front of the building.

I liked Petro when he was here - but I'd consider him "Backes-level". Good enough to be remembered for years, but not great enough to get his number in the rafters.
