Best Contracts of 8 Years or More
I'm trying to think of any contracts of 8 years or more that upon completion of the contract you can look back and say, "That was a good contract". I thought of Max Scherzer with the Nationals but when I looked it up, that was only 7 years. Can you think of one?

Just thought of Pujols' first contract- 8/100. That was excellent.

Holliday of 7/120 was worth every penny. But that's 7. And I can't think of a better 7 year deal then that.
Was the Pujols extension the first of its type? Any extensions before that that were long-term contracts given to players with 3 years of service time? Of that length? And that is easily the best value contract of all time.

Manny Ramirez' deal with the Red Sox was for 8/160 years and he did all right.

Alex Rodriguez . The one with the Rangers was an absolute great deal . Although he was traded after three years his stats were awesome. He then proceeded to provide the Yankees with MVP stats. Harper’s contract is team friendly and has work out despite injuries. Ohtani’s contract is well on its way to being a bargain also .
