I believe it's 12:01am EST - so 11:01pm tonight. Could be wrong.

Technical question....can a deal be agreed to in principle by that time then details worked out some hours/half day later?Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 17:31 pmI believe it's 12:01am EST - so 11:01pm tonight. Could be wrong.
Thinking so.

Looking more and more like we are just trying to maximize the asset and do the leg work than it looks like we actually really want to trade Kyrou, He would already be traded if that were not the case IMO but we will know soon enough.

That’s my suspicion. Armstrong tends to jump the market around the trade deadline and not work right up until the last minute. I’d be pretty surprised if we got an 11pm alert tonight that Kyrou was on the move. I think if it was going to happen it would have already. But you never know.

Never know, even if that is the case one of the other teams could cave late as at this point its probably the would be trade partners holding out as well.bluetunehead wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 18:01 pmThat’s my suspicion. I'm pretty sure the paperwork has to be filed with the league before the deadline.dhsux wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 17:55 pmTechnical question....can a deal be agreed to in principle by that time then details worked out some hours/half day later?Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 17:31 pmI believe it's 12:01am EST - so 11:01pm tonight. Armstrong would slaughter his whole family, including aunts, uncles, and 4th cousins before he’d trade Kyrou.

I'm still waiting for Fitzgerald to make a move in New Jersey.
They really need 2 wingers to play in the top 6.
The Devils are going nowhere with Noesen & Palat on the 2nd line. They're both 3rd liners.
Markstrom is entering his walk year so the Devils will make a significant move(s).
They have some cap space but still have to sign Luke Hughes.
New Jersey will try to trade one of those 5 RHD:
I'm sure they have shopped Hamilton and his large cap hit. Hard to gauge if he has any value. Salary, age, & reputation are negatives.
Nemec hasn't proven enough to garner a great return. Could be a stud.
Pesce led the Devils in ice time and has a reasonable cap hit so he's unlikely to be moved.
Kovacevic signed a 5 year deal last year and is coming off an injury & won't be ready for camp.
Casey is undersized and seems destined as a PP specialist that has to be shielded.
Dawson Mercer has been brought up a lot but the Devils don't have a 3C to replace him if he's traded for a winger.
Mercer is also a tad undersized for a 3C and not good in the dot. Seems RW might be his forte, but he has been forced to center because of the Devils lack of center depth behind their 2 studs.
It's doubtful NJ can put together an attractive package to Army for Kyrou.
They don't have many top prospects to trade unless they trade the Russian Tree (Silayev).
I expect NJ to go after Ehlers or Boeser tomorrow. Those 2 guys are loving the way things have played out with many players re-signing.

This. You would have to be an idiot to trade the guy who lead the team in goals by a large margin, had the top +/- on the team, and when paired with Holloway was the most effective line in the NHL for a whole month.

Anyone know why Kyrou was given a NTC by Army? Was the big money and many years not enough? Did Kyrou request it, etc.?

Maybe Kyrou will wise up when he sees what little value the rest of the NHL places on him.
There aren't many players who have regular season stats like his at a guaranteed contract below what today's market would pay and yet...
