While it is true that a lot of teams have a need for a 2C, it is also true that there are plenty of teams with a very capable 2C.

The key to solving this riddle is VERY VERY SIMPLE. Just answer this question... How did Edmonton get Draistl?

Can someone please let Doug know how Edmonton got Draisitl, and tell him to please just follow that same blueprint?

So you want the Blues to tank for 10 years - wonderful idea, truly fantastic.

Not only that, he doesn't want to recognize that the Blues acquired both their #1 and #2 centers for the 2019 Stanley Cup Champion team via trade, and the 3C via free agency. Oh, and the 4C via trade.

Edmonton has a 1/2C combo and zero cups won with them. Granted, they've been to the finals, but the goal isn't to have a #2C and make it to the finals. The goal is the win it all. Will they retain McDavid? If not, the previous drafted #1C (RNH) who later became the #2C, will once again be the #2C and they'll be able to ice a more complete team. By then Dvorsky will be #2C for the Blues and he'll need to figure something else out.

I'm simply making this observation.

Army doesn't have to stare into the abyss to figure out how to get a 2C.

All that he has to do is stare at the teams that have successfully landed a 2C. There are plenty to learn from.

Army’s message:
Some teams do not have a 2c problem.
Don’t anyone look there.

First comes ASOGG crying about not having a 2C to speak of.

And then comes Army crying about not having a 2C on the Blues.

Then comes Army crying that nobody has a 2C.

You only have 1/3 of that right. Doug isn’t crying.

b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: 28 Jun 2025 19:37 pm DA wants 3 scoring lines in the not too distant future and he has the wingers to do it. If they trade for a young 2C, it won't block Dvorsky. By then Schenn won't be a scoring line center. So, right now the Blues only have Thomas who fits the role as a true scoring line center. We need Dvorsky and another young 2/3C to get to where DA wants this team to be up front. If Neighbours and Bolduc are your 3rd line wings, they deserve a guy who isn't just a checking line center.
Schenn with kyrou and holloway was a top line

As an aside...

Who was the most P-O'd about Army's public comments about not having a 2C...?

- Schenn
- Dvorsky
- Texier
- Other

I don't know how Schenn even looks at Army anymore?
