Re: Fred Hucul
I've been a Blues fan since day 1. I never heard of this guy. I thought you meant Fran Huck, but I looked it up. Good find. Sad news.
Re: Fred Hucul
You probably were a fan on day 1 but not a hard core die hard fan yet.
I didn't become a fan until the playoffs that year and I remembered the name, but couldn't pick him out of a team picture if my life depended on it....LOL

Yeah, I remember him but vaguely at best. RIP.
EDIT: One reason I remember him is back in college in the early 70's we'd kill time going round robin with each person naming a current or past Blues player. Pretty soon, though, all of us knew all of the player names.

I hate threads like this because it usually means the player has died who we grew up seeing. Freddy Hucul, a left handed defensemen . Nice stamped he assisted on the Blues first goal.
RIP.

Re: Fred Hucul
I remembered Fred Huculs name as soon as I saw it in this thread. Sorry I don't remember any interesting stories. I'm glad you guys let us know when a former Blue should be remembered. They deserve it.
Re: Fred Hucul
I wrote him TTM over the years requesting his autograph and one time he sent me a program of the Blues first game and another time a set of the Blues team issued B&W postcards from year one he was in. Quite a guy.
Think he might still hold the record of years between NHL goals at 14. He also played a few games with the St. Louis Flyers when they were a Hawks AHL team.
Was jersey number 2 with the Blues.
