Chances of Noot going on IL? If so does Hampson play or bring someone up? Who?
Swinging the bat can’t be a good way for this injury to heal and based on history I’m just guessing he will hit IL at least 10 days.

Re: Intercostal
Nathan Church is on fire this year with a .940 OPS this season between AA and AAA coming into today (hit 2 HRs today so far). He ought to get a chance at some point soon.
Re: Intercostal
Yes sort of makes me wonder about the Hampson transaction. Sort of defeats purpose of looking at young guys.

Re: Intercostal
He grimaced twice and still continued to swing. IL imminent. Should’ve removed himself immediately due to recent treatment.

I think he's the kind of player you can cut bait on though and not think twice about it. He's a warm body for now.Jatalk wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 19:48 pmYes sort of makes me wonder about the Hampson transaction. Sort of defeats purpose of looking at young guys.
Re: Intercostal
Walker will be activated next week. They are likely to keep Hampson due to his flexibility.

Correct. It’s like they can’t commit to their own plan. Same with McGreevy and the rotation.

I get that Hampson isn’t much to get excited about.Jatalk wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 19:48 pmYes sort of makes me wonder about the Hampson transaction. Sort of defeats purpose of looking at young guys.
But...like Barrero before him he is basically just the 26th man and only an emergency fill in.
The only issue I see with Noot going on the IL would be a backup for CF.
Hampson I guess can fill in for Scott on the rare days he sits(LH starter).
Either guy hits 9th so no biggie there.
Corner OF would be Burleson and Donovan.
Hopefully Walker is back soon? I like to think Saggese can also be a fill in for Corner OF.
They should have been giving him looks there in AAA if he is to be the next Donovan?
Siani can at least give you GG defense in an emergency.
A lot of talk about Church. Is he on the horizon?
IF is pretty much set. Saggese for Gorman vs tough lefties.
I don’t really worry about DH.
Hell...let Pozo DH!!!
Hopefully Herrera back sooner than later???
Re: Intercostal
In a few more months he can spend more time with his beautiful family!82birds wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 19:54 pmthere is no accounting for MO's movesJatalk wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 19:48 pmYes sort of makes me wonder about the Hampson transaction. Sort of defeats purpose of looking at young guys.

Hitting .377 with a 1.104 OPS in AAA right now, so he should be.Cusecards wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 20:10 pmI get that Hampson isn’t much to get excited about.Jatalk wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 19:48 pmYes sort of makes me wonder about the Hampson transaction. Sort of defeats purpose of looking at young guys.

The dilemma:
They really do need to find out once and for all what is up with Walker and Gorman in 2025.
I’d throw Noot in there as well as to me he is too feast or famine.
Church probably has earned his shot. Saggese also!
But it’s not fair to bring those guys here to mostly sit on the bench.
Ssggese is only up because BOTH Walker and Herrera are out.
Next year JJ and Crooks, etc become front and center.
And the more I think about it I don’t think Arenado is going anywhere???

Re: Intercostal
IF Nootbaar is hurt, Hampson should not be the next man up. Hampson is just a RH Siani and what’s the point. We have an outfielder in AAA who is putting together a nice year. We have an option here. Church has earned an opportunity to play, especially if there’s an injury. If we are going to use Hampson, why not just go with Siani, which would suck.
A reset is one thing but during this time the team is actually playing good baseball. If we can have the reset AND play meaningful games, isn’t that the best of both worlds?

Wouldn't be shocked if Noot DOES need IL time if they don't hold off on the move until Walker's ready.Whatashame wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 20:54 pm IF Nootbaar is hurt, Hampson should not be the next man up. Re: Intercostal
Siani could fill in for a week until Walker is back from the IL.
