Why trade hofer next offseason with binny is aging and on last year next offseason. Thatd be the time to trade binny and extend hofer if he proves himself. If hofer looks good why discard him- hes your long term starte- dont rely on ellis to be the longterm goalieTheJackBurton wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 14:43 pm The 2 year gives Ellis another full year in the minors with call ups for injuries.
If he has another spectacular season in the A, odds are Hofer is trade bait next off season.

Because at some point you are either going to have to give Ellis his chance, trade him, or just let him go.Wattage wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025 07:35 amWhy trade hofer next offseason with binny is aging and on last year next offseason. It could potentially be another Ben Bishop situation.
Goalers don't age like skaters. As long as Binny doesn't go swimming in the crease, he could very well be effective well into his late 30's. If nothing else he becomes the backup for whoever we keep between Hofer/Ellis.
Just because Binny's contract would expire doesn't mean he's gone.
