Also, Jim Nill didn't deserve to win a 3rd consecutive year. Yeah he acquired Rantanen after he made it clear he wasn't staying in Carolina and would only sign with 3 other teams. He did also make the trade for Ceci and Granlund, but those are average trades, certainly not anything that would wow anyone.

GM of the year votes
Listen I'm not saying Army should have won, but to only have gotten 4 votes after the off season and in season he had is absolutely disgraceful.

Re: GM of the year votes
I agree with you but if I remember correctly, the voting was done after the first round of the playoffs. If that is correct, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that could've had an impact.

Armstrong is too high.
I’d put Conroy over him.

Re: GM of the year votes
Zito should have been the obvious winner. I think voting was after 2nd round.
The Panthers main defections from their 24 Cup team were Montour, Ekman-Larsson, & Tarasenko.
They ended up being replaced by Jones, Schmidt, & Marchand.
Jones led the Cats in ATOI (over 25) in the playoffs.
Schmidt had more ice time and production in the playoffs than OEL.
Marchand transformed the 3rd line into a scoring line.
Zito also had to bring in an entire new 4th line on the cheap.
Nill went all in and lost (again).
