If no trades what position do you address in 5th round?
We need to replenish our goalie ranks. Not a bad pick to use for goaler. Louis Antoine Denault. 6'8" monster with the Remparts.

I was thinking along those lines, not player-specific. Also, if the Blues need a goaltender in a certain age group they have plenty of assets to trade.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 12:41 pm We need to replenish our goalie ranks. You always take best available and use trades to balance out needs.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 12:41 pm We need to replenish our goalie ranks. Not a bad pick to use for goaler. Louis Antoine Denault. 6'8" monster with the Remparts.

I would think they'd pick up what they see as the best player still there, right?IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 12:41 pm We need to replenish our goalie ranks. Not a bad pick to use for goaler. Louis Antoine Denault. 6'8" monster with the Remparts.

I am definitely in favor of taking a developmental goalie this year. Just don’t know if that should be round 5 or 6. Personally, I like Goos(at work so I can’t really follow today’s picks that closely; don’t know if he’s still available).

This is right in theory. But how often do we actually see prospect for prospect trades to balance out needs? We have a ton of LW now (and for a while), but haven’t traded any of them. That’s why I am okay taking the BPA at a need (unless it is an obvious reach). But if guys are ranked similarly, I am erring on the side of system need for sure.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 12:47 pmYou always take best available and use trades to balance out needs.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 12:41 pm We need to replenish our goalie ranks. We were in a position of needing to restock everything a couple years ago. Now we have built depth in certain areas and can trade from it. It doesn’t need to be a prospect for prospect. It can be a couple prospects and or picks for an established NHL player in an area of need. Or a NHL player(s) in areas of depth for a player of need.Cujo's Mask wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 12:57 pmThis is right in theory. Swed Dman Karl Annborn would be a pretty good get if still around. Or Slovak C Jan Chovan? OHL RWer Harry Nansi?

They're praising up Viktor Klingsell. one guy had him going in the 50's. Kinda surprised we didn't grab him with Steen onboard. went to the Jets at 156.
I trust our team with the Russian.

Not especially.
Amazing skater but not that great with the puck.
That said, he's got more than a little Dingo in his game. Absolute ping-pong ball of hate on the ice.
