Krug money

Post by leedog68 »

I was thinking about that LTIR money. Teams like the Blues (if I understand it correctly) could use it to their advantage. I think they did this with Hoffman a while back. Say a Faksa type guy doesn't get the deal he wants anywhere. There are always good players that kind of fall through the cracks. The Blues could tell them come to camp on a PTO and as soon as the season starts and we get the extra cap space we can pay way more.

That is one way to use it, yeah. Though a deal for a guy like Faksa would be small enough that they could probably offset it by sending Bolduc and Snuggerud to the minors for the first day of the season and then bringing them back up once Krug is placed on LTIR.

Agree. I show them with a full 23 man roster right now (Dvorsky included) and $1,625,150 in cap space before LTIR. That goes to $4,325,159 if they make paper moves to send down Bolduc, Snuggs and Dvorsky the day before the season. As said by another poster, if they can dump Leddy, that goes to $8.3+ before using Krug. Doug knows what he’s doing.
