This draft format sucks

What was the thinking of not having the teams there? Anyone know?

Saving money on not sending the entire staff to another city for close to a week and the GMs didn’t like that everyone could see who all they were talking to on the floor.

Ah didn’t consider that last part but that could be a double edged sword too

Eh, I don’t know. Doesn’t seem all that bad. The kids still get their moment and that’s all that matters.

Do they? They get to shake hands with Gary and some random B list celebrity from the city that picks them but then just do a quick awkward zoom call with the team that picked him? This is awkward and cheap looking AF.

This constant echo with draftee interacting with the organization is awful. I work remotely and the conferencing system we use malfunctions constantly. I listen to echos all day. Never thought I'd have to deal with it during an NHL draft.

Especially Martone’s selection. Pretty clear Philly was not expecting to get him. The barely sticking name and the execs saying he fell to them was kind of cringe IMHO.

We got a guy I didn’t think would be there. I was hoping for Fiddler in the Note but I am really happy with Carbonneau.
