Oilers Should Send Canucks a Nice Fruit Basket and Thank You Card
The Canucks took one of their biggest headaches off their hands and saved them $5 mil in cap space. Vancouver acquired a beaten-and-battered player, 33, who missed all last (regular) season and has a history of personal and team turmoil. Who can forget Kane's final minutes with the Oilers, when he tried to goad Matthew Tkachuk into a stick-swinging duel, then skipped the postgame handshake ritual?: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/645076 ... dailyemail

Can’t believe Vancouver couldn’t squeeze a prospect out of Edmonton to take Kane off their hands. Hey, maybe he stays healthy and scores 40……..or maybe he is an undisciplined distraction like usual.

And another distraction is the absolute last thing the Canucks needed coming off of last year. I think at this point they are just throwing things at a wall hoping something works.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 13:16 pm Can’t believe Vancouver couldn’t squeeze a prospect out of Edmonton to take Kane off their hands. Canucks are the unhealthiest team in Canada right now
Re: Oilers Should Send Canucks a Nice Fruit Basket and Thank You Card
They should send them a couple of cases of VERY good scotch.
Where this is concerning for me is with Pettersson and Kane. It just feels like something is really wrong with Pettersson and his approach in the locker room if Kane would be good for the room. Like maybe they need Kane to a correct Pettersson's attitude kind of thing. I get that I am speculating wildly. Kane is there to bring something other than points to that team. Trying to sort out why Van paid to get someone the rumor was they could have gotten with a pick.

Evander kane got goaded into some dumb penalties in the cup finals but did anyone watch the first 3 rounds? If healthy, 5 million is fine value for kane amd he avoided the past drama of his career while in edmonton. Him being gone weakens their deoth and top 6 options

He can’t skate well anymore…not that he was ever a demon. He’s a robot up and down that tries to bang.Wattage wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 14:35 pm Evander kane got goaded into some dumb penalties in the cup finals but did anyone watch the first 3 rounds? Despite the finals, he was far mode effective in the playoffs than trent fredric who they decoded to lock up for 8 years now for some reason.theograce wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 14:37 pmHe can’t skate well anymore…not that he was ever a demon. Not playing all season reduced that risk.Wattage wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 14:35 pm Evander kane got goaded into some dumb penalties in the cup finals but did anyone watch the first 3 rounds? Personally, I like guys who play hard, tough as nails, but with respect for their opponent. Kane is a punk. I saw quite a bit of him when he was with the Thrashers, big talent small brain.

He can’t skate well anymore and has a beat up body. Everyone knows this about him. Canucks are a poorly run franchise
Kane is a terrible leader for a team who already has horrendous leadership.

I understand he grew up there but even the fans don't like the move.
