three trade props i am hearing

Post by Nublues69 »

I have been reading trade rumors all over. Not all the pieces i am placing have been mentioned but which trade would you prefer.

NYI-STL

Kyrou (small add) for Noah Dobson + danny nelson

STL- NJD (my fave)

kyrou FOR Nemec and Mercer

STL- BUF

Kyrou (small add) for Bowen Byram + Jiri Kulich

tell me what you think its a slow day at the office.

I confess I am intrigued by the possibility of pulling off another Boumeester type acquisition. I lean HEAVILY to length here IF the assessment of Dobson is he will be a top-notch defender.

What even makes this possible is all the forward (wing) depth in the organization.

If we can get two solid pieces for Kyrou in a trade with the Islanders or Sabres, that’s a win—but honestly, I’d still do a one-for-one swap for Dobson or Byram. Either of those moves immediately strengthens our blue line and sets us up for long-term success.

Kyrou for Nemec and Mercer is a terrible trade.
I like Byram a lot but I don’t trust the player at all. Kulich is a very good player but really zero interest in that trade.
I’m not giving up Kyrou for Dobson. I’ll take Dobson but not at that cost. I’ll take Danny Nelson all day long if the Islanders want to throw him in a deal for Dobson that doesn’t include Kyrou.

Only of Dobson/Byram extend.

Byram makes little sense to me (if you are trading Kyrou) based on our glut of left d.

If you trade Kyrou you have to be filling an organisational need.

Islanders and New Jersey trades kinda make sense.

Dobson is all about his contract. Kyrou for a RFA who i assume isnt signing seems steep.

With New Jersey there is defo risk that Nemec is a bust. I like Mercer as a middle 6 forward (his faceoff % is terrible mind) but if Nemec is at best a 3rd pairing dman thats a terrible return for Kyrou.

If we pulled off another JBo deal it would be something like Texier, Joseph, Kessel for Dobson

Byram is one elbow to the head away from early retirement. I honestly can’t believe people want to trade for him, especially in exchange for our one big trade chip (in theory). I’m all for getting Dobson if the trade is right. Keep in mind that Bolduc played for Patrick Roy in Juniors,so guessing he would be of interest. I have no interest at all in trading Bolduc, but I could see the logic. But then you have to throw in Faulk to make the money work.

Yep..pretty sure Faulk will be part of any trade for Dobson

I'm glad to see the Blues seem to be looking at the right players, doesn't have to get done now but glad to see them sniffing around in the right places.

The only one of these proposals I’ve actually seen as a legit rumor is the one for Dobson…but he has now let it be known he wants to stay in the East so that takes out the Blues unfortunately.

I saw it a few places but here it is from Strick:
Islanders Dman Noah Dobson is indeed staying in the Eastern Conference and has informed interested teams.
That tells me the Blues were informed they’re out.

The other 2 trades sound like ones I’ve seen fans propose but not any rumors of anything like that actually be out there.

I’m also not a big fan of acquiring Byram. He’s a solid #3 (was Buffalo’s #2 but I see him as more of a #3 guy on a team with actual Cup aspirations) but he’s a lefty. We're already chock full of LDs. But we do need to get younger on defense on both sides. But absolutely not at the expense of Kyrou. Kyrou isn’t untouchable but Byram doesn’t move the needle for me.

I would’ve considered Kyrou for Dobson but that ship has sailed it seems. Byram isn’t the same caliber of player and he’s a lefty so I have much less interest with him.

I love Kulich though. Great young C that I think is going to be a perinatal 30 goal scorer in this league. But I’d really only consider trading Kyrou if Kyrou wasn’t the best asset in the deal. This deal wouldn’t be that.

Kyrou has lead the Blues in goals each of the last 3 seasons. You can’t just give up that player without someone big coming back in return. Cant just assume/hope Snuggy and others will pick up the slack.

I'd be mildly surprised if Kyrou was ever going the other way but who knows.

I agree with the above post.
For those wanting to trade up. I's not happening.
The Blues do not have the draft capital to make such a move.

Again man, good post. Kyrou is in no way so bad that he has to be dealt. He has improved every year the next iteration is to continue to get stronger over summer and become a bit more physically assertive. I can happen he added bulk last summer, hes a gym rat typically the fittest Blue. If he stays its contingent to then add a center to this mix that can accel in that environment.
