Walker
Howdy all -
I'm not the biggest follower of the Cards - I know Walker started off pretty slowly, but admittedly I haven't been watching much at all. I thought I saw a report he was sent down, but didn't see him on the Redbirds roster. Is he injured?
Thanks!

Re: Walker
He had a good 10-14 days in late May/early June but then went on the IL with a wrist issue. He's been horrible since returning.Emma bleeds blue wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 13:13 pmOh wow - thank you! Re: Walker
Over that 15 game stretch you're referring to, he hit .326/.356/.488 - .844 OPS with 15 strikeouts, 2 walks, and a .481 BABIP... so he had good, albeit fortunate, results.3dender wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 14:11 pmNothing about what I said was incorrect, G[od] F[orgives] Y[ou].scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 14:09 pm58 OPS+, -1.0 WAR and bad fielding3dender wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 13:50 pmHe had a good 10-14 days in late May/early June but then went on the IL with a wrist issue. Come on fellas…..the Yutes were given a WHOLE season to shine…..perhaps the 2nd half will illuminate
Also, just curious…..this Time for Yutes to shine in 2025…have any YUTES impressed??
Noot-Not really a YUTE but disappointing
Scott-disappointing
Walker-disappointing
Gorman-disappointing
Winn-disappointing
Burly-shining, but we saw this last season for a couple months
Herrera-above expectations but needs to stay healthy
Pages/Pozo-nothing special

Winn is playing fine at SS and unlike some others with sophomore slumps, his has been manageable. Further, since they don't have a viable back-up SS he essentially gets no days off. He does seem to wear down at times. Assuming Wetherholdt makes the team next year and plays 2B, he should also be a viable backup at SS. Donovan can play LF and back-up Wetherholdt at SS. They can trade one of or both of Noot and Walker over the off-season.
Victor Scott went from being overwhelmed by ML pitching this year to at least being passable while playing gold glove defense and stealing 22 of 23 bags.
Gorman was awful to the start the year. At least now there are signs of hope.
Noot, I hoped for more.
Walker, the clock is ticking.

They are who we thought they were…..didn’t need whole season of YUTEfest to figure anything outICCFIM2 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 16:34 pmPretty tough grading there.Goldfan wrote: ↑26 Jun 2025 15:54 pm Come on fellas…..the Yutes were given a WHOLE season to shine…..perhaps the 2nd half will illuminate![]()

Re: Walker
I have this thought. I think Walker gets fckd in many at bats. I think he gets a bad called strike and starts his at bats in an 0-1 hole. Often. That has got to be defeating.
I’m betting when the automatic zone is implemented, Walker will then be rewarded for balls out of the zone, and I bet becomes a good hitter.
