Tucker is about to put us out of our misery. Pallante isn't good enough. Nice guy, but not a major league starter.

He's only given up 2 runs today - not bad for a 4th or 5th starter. Not his fault the offense has gone missing. If the Cards had scored 5, we'd be complimenting Pallante for only giving up 2.

I'm surprised Pallante made it through 5 today, he didn't seem to have it. All in all, a good effort, not disappointed.

...The Cards' pitching today was actually better than the Cards' hitting, and that is concerning. This heat must be taking a toll... In middle of the Cards 7th, Cards limited to 1 hit from 3 Cubs pitchers.

I think we'll see if the Cards really want to compete, if we keep struggling against lefthanders. If we keep trying the Barerros, Vlades, and Handsoms, trying to catch lightning in a bottle, they are not serious about contending. Going to the scrap heap every other week will not get it done.
