Not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone but, if Fedde is your number 2 you need some starting pitching. He's average at best. I'm personally not a fan but he is who we have and that will not change this year. Cards aren't spending anytime soon, on any players. Position players or starters demanding any salary. Get used to what you see and just hope this team over performs..

Fedde starting the season as your #2 is yet another example of Mo's incompetence forming a roster.

Just like Mikolas. Asian ball with good success and first year success back in the majors but teams figure them out. Miles extension was an awful decision, hell, the dude is in a contract year and still is average. Another low hanging fruit sign. I just pray that they don't extend Fedde. I'm not sure the reset should be for the players? Just step away MO!!!!!

They're not going to extend Fedde.

He and Matz will be dealt at the deadline.

I'm just not sure who they could ship those guys to. I wouldn't take either of them. They have no trade value.

Fedde sucks…..I’m not sure I’ve actually watched him throw for several innings before tonight…..but ain’t got nothing. What’s the point of throwing him out there. Not a young arm better than this (bleep)??

You are insane. Fedde came into the game with a 3.54 ERA and after getting lit up has just a 4.11 ERA. I’ll bet you were mute when he threw the complete game shut out or were you saying he sucked then? I don’t understand how people that are reactionary about every start or at bat can be a baseball fan when there’s 162 games. I guess in order for you to think a pitcher is decent they have to go 32-0 with 32 shutouts. You were also brilliantly saying Libby wasn’t a starter he was a reliever lol

What is he 3-6?? Saw him get lit in Boston and tonight……as I’ve said I haven’t really seen him pitch much or paid attention to his stuff. I assume he attempts to trick and hope for the best…..I didn’t see one pitch you’d call an out pitch….just junk all low 90’s or less

And no wonder you hyperventilate over a bad start since you’ve only seen him pitch twice. He had a 3.54 ERA coming into today’s game so guess what genius that means he’s been pitching pretty decently. And you were losing your mind over Libby being a starter because you said he’s only a reliever lol

I get ya but Fedde just isn't a number 2 caliber guy. He's just average at best. If this team wants to win, they need to draft well but also aquire free agent signings. Dumwitt needs to spend SOME money on some acquisitions through trade as well. This team does not need a POBO or a GM if they can't spend some cash to upgrade this barely above average roster.

Never said he was a 2 starter but people peeing in their pants and calling a pitcher garbage who came into the game with a 3.54 ERA in 15 starts are dumb. And he was one of the genius scouts who was crying about them putting Libby in the rotation because he was adamant that he is only a reliever and had proven he was only a reliever lol

Run differential for the series is Cubs +1.
If the Cards win a one run game tomorrow it’ll be a wash and they’ll have taken 3 of 4!

Fedde is what he is, a decent middle to back of the rotation starter. When good he is very good and when the stuff isn't working he gets hit. Not every starter is a top of the rotation guy. Fedde would be easy to trade but won't fetch a lot. A trade of him and another player, probably one of our relievers, would be attractive to teams that have limited pitching and are in the hunt. Similar to what we did with Montgomery and Stratton. I watch other teams every night and there are a lot of teams needing starting pitching.

If nobody gives anything for Fedde let him stay and eat innings this year. That has value also and he is a relatively cheap starter.

I don't get the need of some posters to overreact at every bad game a player has. Have some objectivity. Fedde has had two clunkers this year. Otherwise he has been solid.

Not overreacting here just making a point he'll be moved since he isn't going to be extended and it opens a spot for McGreevy who I have some misgivings but that's for another thread.
