Tough error on Pozo.
Re: GDT : Cards vs. Cubs (6/25) ~ 6:45pm CDT
He said he prefers the balanced schedule to the unbalanced schedule. I agree from a competition standpoint, it's fairer to have all teams from each league play all 15 teams from the other league.
But on the other hand, starting the season at home vs. the Twins and Angels was a total bore. And interleague play in general doesn't feature many real rivalries. And most of the teams over there, I couldn't care less about. I'd rather plays the Cubs and Brewers more often. On the other hand, I don't care to play the Pirates 19 times.
So I'm kind of on the fence about the schedule.

...Cubs' Busch on base on error by Pozo. Crazy bounce in front of HP, and dropped bat by Busch on his way to 1B looked very close to the ball. What would the call have been if the bat HAD hit the ball when the bat was dropped..?

You are insane. Fedde came into the game with a 3.54 ERA and after getting lit up has just a 4.11 ERA. I’ll bet you were mute when he threw the complete game shut out or were you saying he sucked then? I don’t understand how people that are reactionary about every start or at bat can be a baseball fan when there’s 162 games. I guess in order for you to think a pitcher is decent they have to go 32-0 with 32 shutouts. You were also brilliantly saying Libby wasn’t a starter he was a reliever lol

Will the Cubs score in every inning tonight?

What is he 3-6?? Saw him get lit in Boston and tonight……as I’ve said I haven’t really seen him pitch much or paid attention to his stuff. I assume he attempts to trick and hope for the best…..I didn’t see one pitch you’d call an out pitch….just junk all low 90’s or lessOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 20:08 pmYou are insane. Not sure of the official rule but I think the batter would be called out, could also be a dead ball. Probably a discretionary call by the umpire.

Pozo is not good as a receiver.

...Thanks for your answer. I can't think of any better call on a play like that either. That particular play raises several interesting possibilities/hypotheticals... What if the catcher makes contact with the bat in fair territory while fielding the ball, or, makes contact with the batter on his way to 1B...?Lightning Rod wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 20:17 pmNot sure of the official rule but I think the batter would be called out, could also be a dead ball. BTW play call was changed to hit by Busch and not an error by Pozo...

Lads appear to be playing poorly tonight. The old adage that you are no better than your starter applies tonight as Fedde never really got started.

...Cards only 3 hits, no walks, and only 3 K's thru 6. Boyd pitching a really good game for the Cubs, with only 79 pitches thru 6...

Not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone but, if Fedde is your number 2 you need some starting pitching. He's average at best. I'm personally not a fan but he is who we have and that will not change this year. Cards aren't spending anytime soon, on any players. Position players or starters demanding any salary. Get used to what you see and just hope this team over performs..
