Walker appendicitis
I have had this, and it's no cake walk.
They have put him on the 10 day DL, but it is going to be much longer than that.
Burleson full time, anyone?

Season from hell for the young man.
Get well, get back into shape and come out firing.

Understand your thinking, Satch. I just wonder how much this has bothered him, if at all, this season. I'd hate to give up too early on a kid with his talents, though they have only surfaced a few times this season.imetsatchelpaige wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 17:33 pmIf Burleson continues to rake, I would not be surprised to see him packaged and moved at the deadline.
Patience by me? Yeah, I surprised myself here.

This makes absolutely no sense.
Something here is not tracking.
You do not get overnight treatment for an appendicitis. I was in the hospital five days, although it was many years ago."Walker left the ballpark Tuesday night after feeling some discomfort, and he spent the night in a hospital for observation. By Wednesday, he was home and feeling better after receiving treatment, according to manager Oliver Marmol."

They should. Once it inflames the chance for rupture goes up. Then it’s a week or so with little movement. Then a week or so of not hurting. Could be awhile.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 18:28 pmDon't they remove the appendix?imetsatchelpaige wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 18:07 pm This makes absolutely no sense.

Re: Walker appendicitis
And nobody knows what the actual use of the appendix is.
Except for being an addendum in a book.

Re: Walker appendicitis
Sometimes the treatment is antibiotics and observation to see if the infection subsides.

Re: Walker appendicitis
It’s my understanding that appendicitis and appendectomy are not the same thing. That’s a bummer for Walker. As for AB taking most of the starts in RF, I guess he’s the best answer, for now. I just don’t think he has much defensive value long term.

Re: Walker appendicitis
After an appendectomy, you’re typically home the next day.
If it is a ruptured appendix, then you may spend several days in the hospital for antibiotics.
Very few people spend five days in the hospital anymore for a surgery.

Tough break.
Hope the kid bounces back. He’s had some rough luck.
