Re: OT: Luis Robert Jr. PH for in 1st
I remember when I was annoyed when the W.S. outbid the Cards to sign him. It would seem we should have been very happy that the Cards were outbid. More $ available to use elsewhere, and no chronically injured could-have-been superstar.
I do feel badly for him and hope he puts it together someday.

Not to give the guy excuses, but I bet he would be a better player and injured less if he played on a team that was winning and not the shirt show that is the White Sox. Seems like a guy that is trying to be traded away to a new team. He probably needs a change of scenery bad.cardsfaninla wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 14:07 pm I remember when I was annoyed when the W.S. outbid the Cards to sign him. Yes, I think he would have been excellent somewhere else. The White Sox failed to develop a ton of high-end prospects because they've been a complete disaster... all of Yoan Moncada, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, and Andrew Vaughn stopped developing and got worse as the White Sox stood helplessly by.brock118 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 15:33 pmNot to give the guy excuses, but I bet he would be a better player and injured less if he played on a team that was winning and not the shirt show that is the White Sox. I doubt he’s intentionally injured himself and had surgeries and is costing himself hundreds of millions when he hits free agency just to try to get traded. He’s like a more injury prone version of Tyler O’Neil and that’s saying somethingbrock118 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 15:33 pmNot to give the guy excuses, but I bet he would be a better player and injured less if he played on a team that was winning and not the shirt show that is the White Sox. Would love to see him just have one full season. He's been a monster so far in 2025.imadangman wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 15:55 pmOr like Byron BuxtonOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 15:39 pmI doubt he’s intentionally injured himself and had surgeries and is costing himself hundreds of millions when he hits free agency just to try to get traded. He has. Minnesota has stuck with him all this time. I guess they could see the talent and just couldn't move on.An Old Friend wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 16:05 pmWould love to see him just have one full season. Robert Jr from 21-23 hit .281/.331/.511 with 162G average including 40 2B 33 HR and 93 RBI. Hope he gets back to that level with a new team.

Minnesota has seemingly had trouble keeping their high value guys healthy for some time... Mauer, Morneau, Buxton, Royce Lewis.imadangman wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 16:09 pmHe has. Oh yea buxton reminds of Eric Davis such a shame he was never able to stay healthy when he was young and the injuries sapped him of that amazing physical talentimadangman wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 15:55 pmOr like Byron BuxtonOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 15:39 pmI doubt he’s intentionally injured himself and had surgeries and is costing himself hundreds of millions when he hits free agency just to try to get traded. Of cvourse not with the surgeries. What I'm saying is, he would probably be playing through a few more injuries if the team was in the pennant race and things were popping at the stadium. But anytime he feels the slightest injury, he probably just tells them to sit him for awhile.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 15:39 pmI doubt he’s intentionally injured himself and had surgeries and is costing himself hundreds of millions when he hits free agency just to try to get traded. Re: OT: Luis Robert Jr. PH for in 1st
He would be the dumbest person in the world if he does that. He would cost himself hundreds of millions in free agency and limit the number of teams that want to trade for him and limit the white Sox interest in trading him they to get something for him no one will trade good prospects for him when he sucks and is hurt all the time which means the white Sox will refuse to sell low on him and keep him in hopes he bounces back to increase the return. So by doing that he would be condemning himself tobrock118 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 17:38 pmOf cvourse not with the surgeries. Continuing to play for them while also costing him hundreds of millions. I don’t know how smart he is but surely he’s not
That dumb
