Re: The Cardinals with Kyle Tucker.
I don’t ever want them to lose draft picks for FA signings anymore.
Our depth has been crushed with the loss of all our draft picks over the years. Isaac Parades is the level we should look at.

Not only that, you ask for suggestions to improve. But you diss each one.JDW wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:14 amJust yesterday you told a poster he couldn't know the Cards wouldn't make such a move.Cranny wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:12 amThat’s no more than a dream. But in order for a team to break the high contract hold that LAD and NY have, they gotta just do it.
And, it’s not like he is a high risk player. Chances are you will get a reasonable return of his service.
Solves right field.
It’s a no brainer in the management world.
What’s it gonna be boy, yes or no. You wanna sleep on it?

Nice write. It’s so simple. We say we want a hear guys but then we meek out. That’s my point. Sooner it layer we / someone has to break the bank to break this cycle.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:15 amCan't beat landing Tucker but Cards don't seem to play bidding wars. I think they'll repurpose some of that saved payroll...but surprised if that much. KT wants the long-term deal that will mostly play out on the wrong side of 30 and some estimates have him getting near Vlad Jr and Soto $$.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 07:51 am Good morning.
Just a signing away.
Team would trade away Walker, Matz, Mik, and Helmsley and outfield will be Tucker Scott and Burleson.
Infield Willy Donovan Winn Nado. Pages at catcher. Gorman and Herrera at DH.
Staff
Gray
Libby
Pallante
Mcg
Young gun.
Closer- maton or granillo.
That completes year two of reset.
Has a good athletic build so might age better than other power hitting OFers, but I think Cardinals are commited to developing or trading for the next stud OFer and MAYBE still have a sliver of hope for JW. At least the boys are winning and providing some good entertainment while we wait it out.
I would like to add...I hope I'm wrong and you're dream comes true! Tucker would be awesome.
Cycle of us not having a real Face to team or superstar, and cycle of studs going only to NY and LA.
Not only do we have a need, but a killer team that Tucker may put over the top.
These type deals come around few times. It’s always been about the timing. Timing is everything.
Nice write.

Re: The Cardinals with Kyle Tucker.
It would make tremendous sense. The Cardinals could do it, if they would do it. Does it make extensions harder? Maybe. You can see the difference he has made in the Cubs offense. It's not just the production he brings- everybody up and down the lineup is better. In addition to Tucker, if he could make each person in the lineup 5-20% more productive, that has great value too. Can one person be 1/3 of your payroll?

This is my view- Cardinals could make it happen if they would just do it. It’s only money. It’s always money.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:22 am It would make tremendous sense. Business people don't use that sentence.

Forgot about Noot. Keeping him and signing Tucker is still a logjam.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 07:51 am Good morning.

If a have to make a trade to relieve that logjam I do. Also Noot can be a super sub. With injuries and days off, you could find at bats if pressed to id think.carl racki wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:32 amForgot about Noot. Yeah, the reason is that the DeWitts are greedy billionaires.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:02 amWe are in an announced reset. There has to be a reason to reset. Once all assets are in place, they can buy. This should be this off season.
As for never making that big splash, well it shows. We saved all this money for a reason. My thoughts it to spend on two big names. If saving the money for any other reason, wrong move.
There was never a plan to spend that money on the back side, they're just permanently lowering payroll going forward and they needed to sell it to fans in a way that wouldn't cause a revolt (they only partially succeeded).

See that hurts me. We have an opportunity to return to greatness. And it’s not far fetched. Two strong moves.3dender wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:38 amYeah, the reason is that the DeWitts are greedy billionaires.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:02 amWe are in an announced reset. Re: The Cardinals with Kyle Tucker.
The fit was just as perfect six years ago when Harper hit free agency. At that time, Harper was 26. Tucker will be 29. Both are/were pretty safe bets but Harper had quite a bit more upside - and age on his side. The Cards passed then and I'd be shocked if they did anything differently this time around.
Re: The Cardinals with Kyle Tucker.
At least you stated the Cardinal FO position properly - the Cardinals COULD outbid them but won’t because they never have and never will delve into the top FA market.Cranny wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:12 amThat’s no more than a dream. Even the Dodgers, Yankees, and Mets have their salary pool me points.

My point you make. We passed then. What has these six years brought?VegasVinny wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:49 am The fit was just as perfect six years ago when Harper hit free agency. Here is what many are missing- we are already pretty good. Won’t take much to be a power. Two strong moves. A Sandy type pitcher, and a Tucker type player.
We could do this.

Re: The Cardinals with Kyle Tucker.
I know billionaires... you've even admitted they're not planning to spend more money, so we agree on that at least. You just continue to make excuses for why they shouldn't spend it, while I think they have plenty of money to blow and should care more about their fans.Cranny wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:57 am3dender - Guess you don't know BDW, Jr.3dender wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:38 amYeah, the reason is that the DeWitts are greedy billionaires.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 08:02 amWe are in an announced reset.
