Could Koperniak/Church fill in for Noot?

Post by Jobu's Rum »

I think so, I don't think you would be missing much without Noot. I say trade him to HOU or NY

Koperniak currently has an ops over 100 points lower vs AAA pitching than noot does this year vs major league pitching. So not at all.

Church maybe in the future. But i dont know that hes mlb ready yet.

If you're going to trade him- trade him to a team that needs a LF or RF and has some good players in their farm system. Philadelphia, Seattle, Texas, Cleveland, Toronto, and Kansas City come to mind. The Yankees and Astros have vomitous farm systems. Next year left field could belong to Herrera, Burleson, Donovan, Church, maybe Baez later, or someone we don't know about yet. There will be good options.

Koperniak fell down and can't get back up this year. A disappointment.
Church should get a chance to play OF, especially some CF, instead of Barrero.

I agree with this. If we trade Noot and are contending this year, Donovan can play LF or Burleson. I don't think either Koperniak or Church will impact this years roster. The only reason to trade Noot is if we are getting a stud SP prospect back who is ML ready now. I don't think Noot's trade value will bring that. Further, a team out of contention is not going to want Noot for 2 years. A contender likely is not going to trade you that...

A team like the Braves who are fringe contenders this year or maybe an orioles might be interested in Noot for 2 years if they are thinking about 2026. I have big doubts that we’ll trade Noot though. At least this year. Maybe in the offseason once Bloom takes over it’s possible.

I don't see Noot commanding a "stud MLB-ready SP prospect." Maybe a SP prospect who could be ready in a year or two (i.e., risk).

No

And don't look now but Noot is really heating up:

Last 6 GP:
3 HR
7 RBI's
.318 .423 .773 1.196

Sure it's a SSS but you have to start somewhere. :D

Yep, he seems to have come out swinging off his weekend off. Club did a great decision to do that.

Last couple games lineup is the best lineup we can put out there right now top to bottom.

Agreed.

Your point the other day about having time off was solid.

I just hope Oli does the same w/Winn & NADO to keep them fresh.
