Chase Davis (TB)
Don’t be afraid to move Chase Davis. It could be now, or it could be done in the winter. Whichever it is, the sooner you do this, the more you will get in return. There is no place for him anytime soon and he is not progressing well. We have Noot and Walker in the corners and even if we move one of them, I would like to see Herrera play some LF, there are other OF trade possibilities, and at this point both Church and Baez are better prospects than Davis. Get something for him while he is young, people think of him as a 1st round draft pick, and still have hsome hope for what he could become. I wouldn’t be reluctant to add him as an add-in on any deal the Cardinals could make for a top 100 prospect if it gets the deal over the line.
Re: Chase Davis (TB)
Him and Crooks seem like a good duo to package together in order to increase return.
Not for the same reason though, I just think Bernal is a better prospect than Crooks and this org has too many catchers.
Davis + Crooks + Gorman/Burleson/Noot would return A LOT, whether an Alcantara-type vet or a TOR prospect.

If Washington was smart they’d shop MacKenzie Gore. He has 2 more years beyond this year of control and given how he’s pitching this year he’d probably bring a haul. Plus there’s the uncertainty surrounding 2027 so it may cut into what team control they have left.3dender wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 15:32 pm Him and Crooks seem like a good duo to package together in order to increase return.

I think you may be able to Alcantara for Davis/Crooks and not have to give up one of the LH batters.
The issue is that you need to move Mikolas and/or Fedde to make room for Sandy and McGreevy.

Re: Chase Davis (TB)
That seems like the right kind of trade for us right now. Take a few players with value and try to roll them into one player with a higher ceiling. And you are right, that combination would get a really good player/prospect.3dender wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 15:32 pm Him and Crooks seem like a good duo to package together in order to increase return.

If they don't clear some organizational depth (chiefly IF and C, but also maybe OF), I'm gonna be pretty frustrated by this deadline.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 15:40 pmThat seems like the right kind of trade for us right now. It's not an issue. They could both be moved any time the FO is ready to do that (assuming NTC is waived).Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 15:38 pm I think you may be able to Alcantara for Davis/Crooks and not have to give up one of the LH batters.

I think there is about a 1% chance the marlins would be dumb enough to make that trade maybeBasil Shabazz wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 15:38 pm I think you may be able to Alcantara for Davis/Crooks and not have to give up one of the LH batters.
