I'd say that's a good comp. Seems like he has some offensive poise and good hands that might be untapped potential. From what I've seen, he seems longer than just the 6'0 list height.

Wow! Well lets hope he pans out for us the Brantford beat writer and others praised Jiricek when he actually played. We will learn a lot this next OHL season i assume thats where he is playing i think he was very young in his draft class. I personally would have a hard time making a judgement on him before hes 21, 22 yrs old

Who is a current defenseman that is comparable to his size and skillset?

Jonas Brodin or perhaps a Gustsav Forsling type.

Very high hockey sense but that shines through more in terms of his reads, positioning, gaps, outlets, breakouts etc more than offensive output. He’s also a plus skater and always has his head up. He’ll still put up maybe 30ish pts/year simply because he’ll be good transitioning the pucks to forwards, finding the open man etc but by and large his main benefit will be on the defensive side. Won’t be used on the PP but likely a stalwart 5 on 5 and on the PK.

Will probably need a solid year in the AHL first before. He’s only 6’0” and just turned 20 so will need to continue to develop his body. The SHL is a very good league but the main difference between the SHL and AHL will be the size of the ice and that creates a different play style Lindstein will have to adapt to. He had more space to cover in the defensive zone in Sweden but it’s also more of an East-West game there whereas here with the narrower rinks, it’s more North-South with more net front coverage. So more traffic in front, more tips/deflections etc. So to me, the main thing I’d guess he’ll need to work on is adapting to that and with that comes an increased need for strength for the leverage needed to move forwards out of the way in front of our net.

But he’s a smart kid and I bet he’ll catch on soon mentally. May just take a year or perhaps more for his body to be where it needs to be to be able to handle NHL caliber forwards in front of the net and in the corners. He has all the makings to be a solid #2-4 d-man for many years.

I agree on the NA adjustment period. Lindstein skates so well in all directions, he is smooth and he doesn't get flustered. Blues fans will point to his point production which is why he won't be seen as a #1 all situations PP defenseman. But he has shown an ability to provide more offense when Sweden had him in that role his first WJC, he was more in a shutdown role last WJC but I thought he looked great.

Obv not responding to your post with this, but It's weird to hear a player whose games you watched be described as hidden, tbh. How a player permutes through a wounded troll's personal level of attention seems like incredibly stupid criteria to judge a player on.
