Dean should be a Top 6 center already as good as Thompson even though he’s 22. Stenberg and Lindstein are worth nothing even though they’re just 20. It’s not even worth the conversation.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 15:25 pmHow are you determining the Blues "pulled nothing from our top cup players"Cahokanut wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 15:00 pm Probably shouldn't jump in.
But this weed guy is right. We pulled nothing from our top cup players.
I can't think of any trade were we gave little and gained so much. But everyone of our top player were about given away.
Didn't name the Blais trade because posters are judging trades by what happened with a pick, instead of just the pick. So,
The second we traded with Blais. Turn into Andrew Copp. Who scored 18pts in 16 games and a vital part of the rangers division finals playoff run with another 16pts. And a 6'7 center Dylan Roobroeck with high potential, who hits, fights, passes, thinks, he led hartford in goals last year his first there. So while I haven't looked up every trade or the trade line of every pick we traded. I. guessing that Bunch/Blaise trade might be a loss when all said and done. At least the way some are being judged. Odd way to judge a trade.
Side note. it's crazy how much some of you will fight, call names, and be kinda vile, to prove Army's the greatest at every aspect of the game of hockey. It's not that serious.
Detroit acquires Husso for '22 3rd round pick (Kaskimaki)
NYR acquire Mikkola/Tarasenko '24 3rd rnd (Jecho), '23 1st rnd pick (Lindstein)
Sammy Blais, 2nd rnd pick to NYR = Buchnevich
TOR acquires Noel Acciari for '23 1st rnd pick (Stenberg); '24 2nd (Lukas Fischer), Gaudette, Abramov
LV acquires Barbie for Dean
Montreal acquires Jake Allen/'22 7th for '20 3rd rnd pick (Dylan Peterson) '20 7th rnd pick (Noah Beck)
The Blues won a cup, covid pretty much costs the Blues a run at at least one more title. Aging players are cashed in for picks, a couple down years and the franchise has regained traction with great young players. Not sure what there to complain about
If we end up not getting any prospect with NHL value in letting all of our star cup players walk—then why did we let them go?
Wasn’t that the whole point of it?
To not win meaningless games right?
