Re: Friedman: Ducks having 'significant discussions' about trading Trevor Zegras
Wouldn't cost much, he fits in the age and salary range, so I believe he wouldn't be a bad option.
My first option? No, but he could potentially be coached up to be what we need.

Definitely not a good fit here. He will go somewhere.

He all but confirmed it.
To bad they got rid of Torts. That would've been fun.

For Poehling, 45th this year and 4th next year.

Per LeBrun:
Poehling, a 2nd(#45) and a 4th in '26 for Zegras
Kyrou goes nowhere if that's the market value.

Zegras is a turd. Kyrou is a gold bar. Two different players.bluetunehead wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 11:43 amI don't think he's going anywhere, but his value is higher than Zegras.

Kyrou is way better than Zegras
Re: Friedman: Ducks having 'significant discussions' about trading Trevor Zegras
Agree. I still can't fathom why so many otherwise knowledgeable posters are trying to get rid of our best goalscorer.

Maybe, but it appears to be an absolutely terrible market for wingers right now.bluetunehead wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 11:43 amI don't think he's going anywhere, but his value is higher than Zegras.
Zegras for a 3rd liner, 2nd and 4th
Burakovsky returned a nothing 4th liner.
Marchment for a 3rd and 4th
Kreider for a 3rd and C level prospect
I'm not moving Kyrou with those kinds of returns being the standard. Even if Kyrou is the best of the lot, the market doesn't suggest that he'd bring in a haul(which is what it would take to move him IMO).

Re: Friedman: Ducks having 'significant discussions' about trading Trevor Zegras
I mean to compare, one guy has three straight 30 goal seasons, three 70 point seasons (and one 67), defensive play that's trending up, and cost certainty for 6 more years.
The other guy had two decent seasons followed by two very problematic ones, needs a new contract next summer, and is being traded in search of a change of scenery.
Kyrou's value is significantly higher. I'm really not interested in the Blues moving him anyway, unless there is a very good young defenseman coming back.

Does the returns surprise you for any of those players though?kimzey59 wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 12:11 pmMaybe, but it appears to be an absolutely terrible market for wingers right now.bluetunehead wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 11:43 amI don't think he's going anywhere, but his value is higher than Zegras.

I still can't fathom why the qualifications about his current value at his cap hit, the Blues franchise needs at RD, Kyrou's inability to stop a trade for the next seven days, the fact that the 2021 and 2022 first round picks both play Kyrou's position and have shown in the last few months of that season that the Blues could safely move Kyrou and probably be okay at RW .... are just unable to be held by the brain and it's lazily reduced to "trying get rid of."
