Zach Hyman's Wrist-Buster Marchment Traded to 7th Place Team

Post by Pink Freud »

Keeping up the family tradition of dirty hits against far better players --- his father, Bryan, was suspended 12 times for it --- Mason Marchment, whose hit on Zach Hyman knocked him out of the Finals, will trade 3 straight 3rd round playoffs for a 7th place expansion team. He's been traded for cap relief, going from the Dallas Stars to the Seattle Kraken for two draft picks.

Now if only the Edmonton Oilers can also practice addition by subtraction and send cheap-shot specialist Evander Kane back to Buffalo, freeing up his May and June for several years.

Bryan Marchment was a true piece of [shirt] and had the least honor of just about anyone who ever played the game. He lived too long

The subject of this reminds me of an old player, Willie Fistergash.

I'd say the same about Tom Wilson. CTE is too good for him.

He was a pretty good center back in the day, but I dont think he would have put up nearly as many points as he did without the help of his wingers… Barry McCockiner & Andy Feltherbush.

Don't forget the elite defensive pair of Dean Gilberry and Haywood Jablome.

No doubt those were some memorable players, but I still believe their inspiring Coach Jack Meehoff had a hand in their success.

I get folks hating on Daddy Marchment ... but the hit on Hyman wasn't the least bit dirty. Do people think it was?

Didn't Hugh Jasole win the Vezina that year?

I don't recall that. But without a doubt you and Sameoldblues seem to have the best memory and insight on this forum, so I won't ever doubt either of you!

It was totally clean. Hyman had just released the puck and just got hit awkward. Not a bit of contact near the head. The thing I hate about Marchment is that he is the biggest offender of embellishment in the league. He dives more than any player I’ve seen.

OT, but I hope this is one of the things they crack down on in the upcoming CBA. Calling more often, and not always take the other player. Especially the phantom head whips. Allow the refs to review it like they do with major penalties and only take the diver where applicable. After 3 embellishment calls, it’s an automatic 1 game suspension. Every one after that in a given season is an additional game suspension. If 3 suspensions, team is fined $500,000 for the player action. Get this soccer diving (bleep) out of the game thru harsh penalties. Just my humble opinion. Baby Marchment might be out of the game in two years if they did it. :-)

All good my friend, was just being facetious, sorta like the 2 class clowns from Willie, Barry & Andy’s team… Dick Fitzwell & Duncan McCokiner.
