Several publications got him going to Cards. Lefty. Four pitches. Nine strong innings. FB at 95 in the end.

Can’t comment because have never seen him pitch.

I don’t like how the coach puts team above player.

And I’ll be honest… I don’t love Kade Anderson. I feel badly that his coach goes against any responsible level of usage for a 20 year old for his own personal gain. I don’t think any major league hurler has touched 130 pitches in a game this season and he’s done it twice. He’s thrown 100 or more pitches I think 11 times this year.

Tarik Skubal has thrown 100 pitches once this season.
quinn matthews did the same in college
His was worse.
you know those kids play for him by choice
Changes nothing. You’re ok with college coaches abusing pitchers. Why?
It’s not abuse… It’s called being an actual ball player… I promise his arm will not fall off
The kid literally already blew out his elbow Yadumass

Never seen him pitch, so can’t comment about him. That’s pretty straight forward and not subject to any question. Sorry.

Think there's like a 1% chance he's even available at this point. After last night's performance, I think he's likely the #1 overall pick. And even then, I think Los Angeles, Seattle, and Colorado seem unlikely to pass on him.

I think the Cardinals would take him, but doubt he will be available when it’s their turn to pick.

I appreciate your comment. Understand I am a loyal LSU fan so I recognize my bias. I share your concern about the pitch count. One time during the season he went 135 pitches. However the coach does not overuse the rest of the staff. Anderson appears to be a pitching freak. I don’t remember Skenes being used to that extent. Also Skenes is the perfect example of putting players first. Few know but Skenes swung a big bat. But LSU would not let him hit fearing he would get hurt pointing out his main MLB value would be as a pitcher. Also LSU has had numerous pitchers put in a slow recovery process with no rush to get back on the mound.

I agree with your concern but I’m not sure your coaching criticism is fair.

I watched him pitch a few innings of his last CWS game. That definitely qualifies me to comment. To which I say, ...

Anderson is not a pitching freak. He’s already had Tommy John once.

Skenes threw at least 100 pitches 12 times and 120 or more in 3 of his last 4 outings. His high for the Pirates is 108.

LSU’s coach abuses their aces and will continue to do so.

Changes nothing. You’re ok with college coaches abusing pitchers. Why?

Dude, they were competing for a CWS Title. It's not abuse at all. Pitch count is simply a number. Not all pitches are created equal. The game has gotten completely soft anymore with usage, hence a partial reason for so many more arm injuries. (The max effort, high spin is another major factor.) I'm certain the kid was consulted. He will have a long break before he has to pitch again. He'll be fine!

100 pitches is not overuse. Your looking at two guys went to a great program, won National titles , high draft picks, no injuries as a result.

I agree with AOF here. Why do you think a 19-21 yr old and a collegiate coaching staff are more responsible than major league teams and their team of specialists?

To be successful, pitchers HAVE to have max effort, high spin, etc, and one way to mitigate that is with pitch count limits. That's why they exist.
