Last five games. 26 IP -little over five per game. Against KC Mil Balt Cinn Toronto . Most hits in hose games is 7. Seven total walks in those five games, four runs twice, two once, zero last night. Team is 3-2 in these five starts.

What more from a four do we need.

STL will lose Fedde and Mikolas this fall.
Matz as well.
2 rotation spots open and one depth piece gone too.
McGreevy can only fill one of those starter roles.
Pallante is indeed a solid #4 and that will come in handy.

He pitches into the fifth inning plus every game. Allows 4 or less. Team is 3-2 in these Number five slot games. Strong number 4/5. And his K’s are starting to increase.

If he becomes a strikeout threat with his few walks, could become a mid rotation power.

Will it be Mathews? Roby? Hence? Henderson? Someone from outside?

Most likely from outside. A free agent. If any existing. Or. It could be a bat. Need a bat.

Was he good? Why then was he pulled after six at 87 pitches. And then use five total pitchers.

Why not start him in seventh. King about blew it.

First priority should probably be an outfield bat.
Maybe an older guy on a short term contact (ala
Beltran and Berkman).

As a friend of mine said, pulling your starter after 6 innings is just the way MLB is now.

The team has needed a corner outfield bat for longer than a decade.
It is truly incredible that Mo has failed to address that.

I was hoping Herrea to be that for left but I may rethink that. Injuries. Need a bat at third. And with Walkers demise maybe in right.

What Walker was to solve may backfire and become a need.

Outstanding like he's been his whole career vs the Reds who he owns!

OMGosh BDog it was soooooooooooooooooo hot, I was melting and felt really bad for the guys.

I was actually surprised Oli sent him out there for the 7th, glad to see him rescue him from the heat after the base hit.

King may need to go, he's bee horrible now for a while

As it stands currently, STL will be thin concerning established starting pitchers next year.
Can't see them betting too heavily on Hence or Roby, given the history of those 2.
Talent is there - but huge questions of reliability.
Don't think they will want to count on Mathews from opening day either.
They would probably prefer to take the McGreevy route initially.
Finally, there is a huge gap between Gray and the rest of the scrum.
My guess is they go outside for a #2.

Makes sense, but not a long term FA contract for a #2, with Mathews, Hence, and Roby in the wings. BDW doesn’t think that way.

The key words there are long term. These days, long term is riddles with opt outs and NTC, they rarely run their terms.
