I agree.
Strive to keep IH healthy by not having him play a demanding physical position he's not good at.
Sure, Oli wants to get both Herrera's and Burly's bat in the lineup most days, we all get that, but I'd rather Burly play the OF than trying to have Herrera C when you already have both Pages and Pozo on the 26.
That’s the point. You can’t have it both ways. Either Herrera plays and someone don’t. Or he don’t.
Well, it is confusing sometimes. Is it a reset with runway, or now that the team continues to surprise and is IN the hunt, do you go with your best current lineup?
The team has earned some respect, so does the FO now try to add to their chances before the deadline?
Right now, the best lineup has Burly in it instead of Walker.

Good points. Yes still a reset. Still a sale coming. Everyone is surprised and giddy about their unforeseen success. How to act?

I agree begrudgingly that Walker is in trouble. And burkeson may be a better hitting option.

Yeah, I've been begrudgingly with Burkeson also, but right now ...................... sigh.

With apologies to the master.....

"Son, I've made a life, out of readin' people's faces
And knowin' what their "Cards" were by the way they held their eyes
So if you don't mind my sayin', I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey I'll give you some advice"

So I handed him my bottle and he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette and asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet and his face lost all expression
Said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy, you gotta learn to play it right"

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away and know when to run
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealing's done"

Herrera is not a hold 'em Card....

Based solely on injury or lack of ability to play the field.

Based on the odds.
His value, if he returns in another 2-3 weeks to play the balance of the year, is near certain to be over inflated this coming off-season.
He is in the same category as DeJong, Martinez, The Paper Tyler, Nootbaar - in every one of those instances the Cards failed to seize the moment to trade them.
There are several young guys to keep right now.
He is not one of them.

Troubling.

In the reset we will jettison contracts this off season and add a stud position player or TOR pitcher. Was really hoping Herrera would be that second bat, hence making the reset more feasible.
