George Zipp wrote: 19 Jun 2025 08:18 am I hate to bum everyone out but there is going to be a heatwave in St. Louis until September 7. This happens every freaking year. First the spring storms and rain. This year it's been exceptional in the amount of destruction, death, flooding, ridiculous rain totals. I mow my yard every other day.

Then we get about 5 days of simply beautiful weather. Mid 70s, low 80s, no humidity, gentle breeze.

Then you look at the long-range forecast and it says 97 and humid every freaking day with a relative humidity of 119%. Look at the long-range forecast on your weather apps. We have reached this stage of the proceedings.

Happy STL summer!

Careful what you asked for. Everyone wanted sun.
I never ask for this weather. I hate this time of year here. I'm an odd duck in that I prefer mild down to cold. Can't stand our summers.
I live in Louisiana. I feel the same. Oppression.
North Texas here. Ditto.
Very hot where you are. Desert heat at times. We get mid upper nineties, mostly with humidity.

Yep, spent some early youth in Dallas. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think the humidity is as oppressive in the metroplex as it is in STL, NO or FLA. However, you absolutely get more days of 103, 107, 109 than we do.

I lived in Waco, TX for three years. 90 miles south of Dallas. Summer heat lasts longer there than in St. Louis, but not as humid. Texas gulf coast - Houston, Port Arthur, Galveston, Corpus Christi - terribly humid and oppressive heat - I would not live there if you paid me to.

vs Reds: Sat & Sun games in afternoon

vs Dubbies: only Thurs, get away game, is during afternoon.

Red & Dubbies live and play in hot & humid environments so net effect probably nil.

Both play in a hat environment but not this year yet. Till now. Usually the first big change either way feels dramatic. The night games should be comfortable. And it’s the summer solstice, I believe.

Humidity is a bit higher than it was when I moved here in the 80s. We've had two really hot summers in a row and are due for a cooler one. So far it's been a nice spring so we may be in for a more normal summer. I can tolerate a few 100 degree days in late July/August, but not days on end of them.

After today-92, three straight 97 days. I think we play two of those games in the afternoon.

There is a heat advisory out. Wonder if they would change game times to later in early evening.

Boys of summer. Imagine the old days when there was no air conditioning in the locker room. They rode trains from city to city.

No body on the road; nobody on the beach. Feel itching n the air; summers out of reach.

I remember old stadium in eighties got hot.

It is the First Day of Summer, the summer solstice, longest light day of year, 15-16 hrs of light

Good. Means Autumn is closing in. Speaking of Autumn, check out the Edgar Winter Group song- Autumn. Worth the listen.

You are all describing one of the key reasons I stuck my thumb out at 17 and headed west.
If I swim, I prefer to do so in a pool or the ocean.
I have sailed the Pacific, spent time in the Philippines and Micronesia on some of the hottest, most humid islands in the world.
The most uncomfortable I have been was at Busch in August when it was 98*.
Revolting. (And we lost)

My two hottest days by temperature were in the Mohave desert and 60 miles west of Fort Worth, both 115.

Hottest life killing moment- on an airport tarmac at 105 in Savanna Georgia. Hottest day of my life.
