Naylor is not a better 1B than Contreras. He may be having a slightly better 1st half but it's just bc he doesn't strike out as much and has a higher BABIP. He's much worse defensively too.

Re: Willson on pace for 109 RBIs
Since April 18 Contreras is hitting .290 with an .885 OPS and 43 RBI in 53 games.
We currently have 3 players in the top/middle of the lineup that are hitting .313 or better for the season and then Contreras driving them in. He’s batting .325 with RISP with an .894 OPS.

He's top 4 in all of MLB, for 1b in Outs above averageWattage wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 22:52 pmMy.bad, i probably forgot to include todays games.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 22:15 pmI believe he’s 2nd in MLB among 1B In RBI according to mlb.com. Only Alonso has more.
Still, he just isnt the best 1b in league.
I love him, but no.

That's my point. I agree with that ranking but He wasn't even in the top 5 last I checked.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 22:56 pmIt’s ok! Right, he’s not, Alonso and Freeman are still 1-2. But Contreras is probably going to be the 3rd best by the time the AS game is here and the end of the season IMO.Wattage wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 22:52 pmMy.bad, i probably forgot to include todays games.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 22:15 pmI believe he’s 2nd in MLB among 1B In RBI according to mlb.com. Oh I agree, I think our players really are underrated/overlooked. Part of it is I blame the fan base’s lack of enthusiasm, which really goes back to management. He’s also new to the position and got off to a very slow start.Carp4Cy wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 09:01 amThat's my point. Donovan was 4th, should at least be 2nd or 1st.
Winn was 10th, he was like 6th by fWAR when the rankings came out
Contreras was 9th I think. He’s 5th in fWAR among NL 1B and should be 4th by next week I think. Pretty decent gap between Freeman/Alonso/Olson though and Contreras. So maybe I should have said 4th, not 3rd.
Herrera was like 8th or 9th as well among DH’s and like 3rd in fWAR.

Good stays. Simple lack of exposure. One reason why the team is doing well, no one takes them serious. No stars.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 09:09 amOh I agree, I think our players really are underrated/overlooked. No one takes the Rockies serious, but that hasn't helped them.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 09:13 amGood stays. Simple lack of exposure.
