We’re pretty loaded up at wing. Whose spot would he have taken?Backesdraft wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 19:09 pm Man I would have liked Marchment. Dallas was never going to trade him in division but he would have looked good in our middle 6.
Moves like this give them options. Otherwise they would have to move a player like Robertson just to fill out a roster. Now they can move a player like him to reshape their roster, if they want to.
Great thought experiment. I think any of Neighbors, Marchment, or Boldy makes sense on the 3rd line. Especially if we’re able to put 10 in the 3c spot.bluetunehead wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 19:16 pmWe’re pretty loaded up at wing. Buch, Kyrou, Holloway, Neighbours, Bolduc, Snuggerud
Or Bennett…Stars feel like one of maybe three teams total of where he could end up.
Nah they don’t have the room for either. They currently have less than 5M in cap space with just 16 players signed. This is so they can actually afford to keep their guys and still fill out the roster.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 19:54 pmOr Bennett…Stars feel like one of maybe three teams total of where he could end up.
If the rumors regarding robertson are true, he would be part of the cap cleanse. Meh season after he signed that big contract. And albeit injured, not a factor in playoffs. They are clearing cap for something. dumb[ash] buyout is next.bluetunehead wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 20:06 pmNah they don’t have the room for either. They’d have to move a contract like Seguin (full NMC) to be a player for a big name.
Hmmm...seems like he would be going from the frying pan into the fire...not a good goalie situation, another very high-priced elite forward on long contract, some very good players that are pushing it age-wise, not much wiggle room to obtain balance and depth, etc. Although he would be in a tax-friendly state so he'll be able to keep more of the money that he so desperately needs "to take care of him and his family."
We will see...Rangers rumored to be all in on Jason Robertsonbluetunehead wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 20:06 pmNah they don’t have the room for either.
