First only one can win it all, so naturally your stat will show a skewed left result. But not the point. That being, at least they made post season. That’s a great start.Cranny wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 10:16 amHow did their big ticket guys do in the playoffs last time? And not everything. They’re winning tonight.
Why do you turn everything into a positive about the Cardinals?

Some posters don't get it that anything can happen in the playoffs. The key is to get there.

I’m sure most teams have it as an objective. And as noted, usually the hottest team wins it. Sometimes hottest and best are the same, not always.Cranny wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 10:25 amsikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 10:23 amFirst only one can win it all, so naturally your stat will show a skewed left result. I would buy tickets when the owner spends on some legit future HOF caliber superstars in their prime. That is an immediate fix. Until I see that from ownership a lot of fans will stay away. A WC contender with no chance to win a WS does not interest anyoneBrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑17 Jun 2025 14:43 pm Everyone knows, who is going to ever know, that the Cardinals have a problem and have had a problem for some time. It is also well understood that there never was nor ever will be an overnight fix. Thus we have this re-build/set/structure/diculous season in 2025. It seems to be going OK. There have good developments and bad developments, and several developments to argue about here. They have managed to give us some exciting games. So now what?

It interests a lot of people, including me. I don't like where we are, but that's the reality of the situation so might as well make the best of it. If it doesn't interest you, that's fine. It isn't my place to tell you or anyone else what they should be interested in or how they should spend their entertainment time and money.Youboughtit wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 13:05 pmI would buy tickets when the owner spends on some legit future HOF caliber superstars in their prime. Re: This is when you know st.louis,, we have a problem
My family were season ticket holders for 40 years until Covid. The cost went from less than $20 per game with parking to $15k. In that time we saw the young Busch tear down the team and sell. This reminds me of that. No stars. Trying to be good instead of great. Either the owner is selling or has lost any urge to compete and fans see it. Cutting $50m lasted year and probably another $50m this year when the top teams are increasing payroll is ridiculous. The recipe to win in this market is established from the last 3Ws having this in common. A top 10 payroll and top 5 farm system. Their last farm tank was 14 and payroll is 20 and both are going the wrong direction.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 13:19 pmIt interests a lot of people, including me. Braves had to do this to get even half a crowd. Lots of weekend concerts after braaves games. then they drafted a bullpen of young, stud pitchers, rest is historyKentucky kid wrote: ↑17 Jun 2025 13:45 pm When you have to have a concert after game to get people in stadium. Now I have to say you can’t beat seeing Cole Swindell. braves were well known for having to bring in concert acts on weekends to bring in 10Kish of fans.

The 80s and 2000 teams all had top 10 payrolls and top 5 farm systems. If you want to go back further to the 60s it was the same. That’s the winning formula. Can’t be one or the other or it won’t work. But for fan support the payroll needs to remain constant inside the top 10. This is a top 10 baseball market. Maybe not by population but by historical gate draw. If the owner was serious about bringing fans back the. Payroll is the way. This team farm strum is back on the rise. Now add the stars from FA. If they spend that $100m that will be off after this year on 1-2-3 all star superstars in their prime this team could contend. It’s up to the owner to decide if he want the fansBrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 18:21 pmSounds like you've seen this song and dance before, too, and see it at a different point in its cycle than do I.
