Hmm whom said trade Hesley while his value is highest?craviduce wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 22:02 pmevidence? Please, give us the evidence.
Right now, Helsley would be rental for any team, and he's having a very bad year, and an extremely bad stretch of games. He wouldn't get both, probably wouldn't get either one.
You said the same 2 years ago with Dylan Carlson. Then you said the same about Arenado for 6 straight months last year...daily.

The plan was to rid /sell Goldie Mik and Matz. One happened. The plan is still to sell Mik and Matz. Both will bring a nice prospect under blooms guys.
Then, off season add one big bat. Left or third. Play. Off season 2026 add TOR starter. League level.
2027- power house.
Patience men.![]()
BTW, the 2026 "budget" needs to be in the $175-180M range.

Wait, those guys don't grow on trees? lol
Realistically, trying to trade for prospects that turn into those types is more possible, but again like you said, good luck, lots of misses in the process.

There you are the answer right before you. Every body wants that guy. How do you get him?
Money boys. Sweet and simple.
We could do it, just gotta spend.

Risk may be too high signing a FA to a huge long term contract. Better doing it with a trade or shorter term deal with an older player (ala Beltran and Berkman).sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 09:02 amThere you are the answer right before you. Every body wants that guy. How do you get him?

Didn’t say anything about long term. I agree. Mucho risk. If you look at who is successful in baseball, they spend. Very few who are cheaper do as well consistently.Cranny wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025 09:06 amRisk may be too high signing a FA to a huge long term contract. We don’t need to go to 200 or 300 M payroll, but we gotta have enough cash to play the game.
For instance- Kyle Tucker. We could have had that. That’s what I mean. It’s not the spending it’s what you buy.
