Sessanta 2.0

Post by DJ Davis »

Any one go? Yeah, Arvid, I know, it sucks.

Pretty (bleep) good show. Primus and APC had great set lists. I’m not as into to Pusifer, but they were awesome too. All 3 bands switched off all night, each playing 3 or so songs, as well as collaborating (for 3 hours). Certainly a unique setup, and it made the show flow.

Also center & adjacent sections around rows AA-CC is where the sound absolutely hits in that place. Sure, the venue sucks overall, but sit there if you want the best audio experience. The rain definitely sucked (donkey), but those seats are also under the pavilion so it wasn’t that bad for us. But being in the lawn last night or anywhere exposed would’ve been awful.

I was there. Section 203 row LL. We barely squeaked under the roof and stayed dry all night so that made a huge difference. Needless to say the music kicked (donkey) as expected. Primus is my least favorite of the three. I still like them but definitely prefer Puscifer and a perfect circle.

Les claypool's bass locking in with his hard-hitting drummer made it feel like my ribs were going to come out the back side of my chest.

Absolutely an awesome show

I got a free ticket so I guess all I wasted was electricity but I didn't plug anything in while I was there so I guess not even that

Think of all the wasted fuel from everyone who went because they had garbage taste. All the electric at the venue wasted on garbage music. The musicians who wasted resources writing their garbage music. All a waste.

Who should everyone have gone and seen instead? I want to make sure that I only go see people that you've approved of

He’ll never answer, it’s all about [defecating] on other people’s tastes, don’t even worry about his dumb (donkey).

I think it was awesome that Primus played both My Name is Mud and Jerry Was a Race Car Driver, back to back.

And then APC playing Judith again. They hadn’t played that in awhile. At least on the tours I’ve seen.

It was awesome. Really enjoyed the outsider. My only real complaint was not playing Pet in its entirety.

On a side note, Primus' new drummer is absolutely incredible

At least they got the two most garbage songs on earth out of the way.

The kind of shows I go to people don't feel the need to brag about what section they sat in. Who cares? You sat in the stadium, here's a box of cookies.

The kind of shows I go to? Now that’s funny stuff. You go to all of these cool shows and spend all day on a dead forum to troll (notice they even identified you as such). These are shows in a meth addict’s basement? There are no sections at those, probably no difference in the sound arrangement, as the holes in the wall and the rain coming in don’t help.

The kind of shows I go to … ha … they’re so cool that no one would post about them on StlToday! But yet, here you are. Do you fellow “friends” know you post on such a cool forum, to brag about the kind of fantastic shows you spread herpes at? Pick your sores?

Also your last comment is weirdly crazy because we actually ate some fresh baked cookies at the show. They were really good. I didn’t even realize they sold those. Makes me wonder

For sure, and the several songs where all three drummers were playing at the same time.. that’s not easy to do. Excellent show

I didn't make this show but had I gone I would have been sure to get an order of wings to enjoy while listening, especially Primus.
I suspect that Les may just have sold his soul to the devil.

It is obvious that your only frame of reference is arenas and stadiums, not clubs or DIY venues. Go back to bed. I'd rather see a show in a meth head's basement than an arena full of farting boomers.

Ha, OK. DIY venues… that’s what I was taking about! You and your methhead friends in a basement or burned-out house, covering The Cramps, is not a cool show.

Went to this show, aside from rain it was a good time.

I try to never miss a chance to see any Les Claypool project, so I was sold before the bonus of Perfect Circle. Those two bands didn’t disappoint, nor did I expect them to. Pucifer was a Maynard project I had ignored till that night. For some reason early on I had the idea theater it was his “goof” band and just never gave it a chance. I believe someone told me they had wrestling matches during the show and that was enough for me to pass. Turns out I was wrong, solid from that sample size a few weeks back. I’m a sucker for female backing vocals, seemed like aside from band members and her voice A perfect Circle and Pusifer sounded pretty similar.

Not 100§ on how I felt about the flow of the show. I liked the no down time, loved when the bands co-mingled during each others songs as well. But three songs and swapping out seemed too soon for me. That being said I’d pay to see them do it again. Remember David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails did a bit of that during their set change years back, but not for the entire show.

… we also got the $25 cookie bucket that night. Concession lady said it was first she had seen if that. For that price that’s actually a good buy at Riverport (I still can’t bring myself to like that venue).

I got 4th row, basically dead center seats on the presale. Don't know how, basically everyone around us, aside from another couple, had VIP tickets. They weren't platinum seats either. Anyway, my highlight was Primus. I've seen them probably a dozen or more times, more than I've seen any other band. Don't know why. I just always see them every time they come to town because their shows are awesome.

It was pretty cool seeing the bands rotate in and out and play songs together, but I found myself really getting into one of the bands and then they would switch, so that was kind of a downer. But it is still a cool concept and I'm glad I got to see it. I was also pumped to see Josh Freese. That dude is a monster!! I gotta say, though, Maynard is not funny. He has to take it down a few notches with that.

But yea, definitely a fun night.
