There has to be something in the way pitchers are managed. The Tampa Bay Rays have (5) pitchers that have each made all 14 starts. The Dodgers have 16 pitchers on the IL- 11 of them on the 60-day IL. There just can't be that big of a gap between lucky and unlucky.

It is certainly hard the quantify bad or good luck, but that is a staggering number of injured pitchers.

However, if there is any team that can buy their way out of a bad luck injury season it is those LAD. They will be ok. Their pitching is very strong and stacked at all levels.

The Rays continue to be quite the impressive franchise. What they do with such a small budget year after year is something else. My Ma is a Rays fan so I follow them with a side eye.

The dodgers have infinite money so they arent scarednto give large contracts to injury prone pitchers or pitchers who have mechanics they realize can lead to injury cuz ifnthe pitcher gets injured, they will just buy a nsw one.

Tampa bay rays as a small market team, are more cautious with who they invest in because they cant afford to just buy another pitcher so they avoid pitchers with bad mechanics or who have questions on their physicals

The Cardinals seem like they have tried to some things differently with their pitchers this year and have stayed pretty healthy. Kudos.

We've been extremely lucky with Sonny Gray. Halfway through his contract and he's been nearly injury free (proper shut down at the end of the season. I'm glad he knows how to speak up about his issues, and that the Cards listen to him. It was a risk, but it seems to be paying off for now.

I only wish our offense would consistently back up their pitching.

Well reference our offense, the other team/ pitcher has a say. We have seen some good opposition pitchers. If we don’t wear down in the summer heat, as other teams do, we should have a fine reset year.

I hear what you are saying, and it's certainly true with their signings, but most the pitchers on their IL are home grown.

Their pitching lab seems to increase their spin rates and rate of IL trips
