Plesac getting rocked in Gwinnett 4-0 with nobody out yet in the 4th.
Saggese is 2 for 2 and up to .310

Re: Minor League Updates (6/15) ~ Cards System
Kross (.194) and Honeyman (.111) not adjusting quickly to High A.
Peoria just getting started.

Re: Minor League Updates (6/15) ~ Cards System
Palm Beach is getting absolutely rocked 9-3 in the fifth.
Highest BA on the starters today is .236!!
Ortiz at .280 is not playing, but the next highest after that is .236.
Pathetic

I watched the Springfield games and they’re the only team that interests me with the three best players we have that could make the Cards and be contributors.
The Wetherholt on base machine continues to roll.
Springfield wins both games - delayed game 6-4 from last night and today’s game 7-1.
Wetherholt got on base 5 of 9 PAs.
Bernal hitting .302 with 11 HRs and 40RBI. I watch him at the plate and he’s ornery looking to the opponents. He stole his 6th base -runs ok for a large man. He looked like he tweaked a hammy running to 1b in the 4th - but he stayed in the game. Although he K’d twice after that.
Baez 1-3 in the nightcap with a double (sat out first game).

That is a pretty exciting group of players. Without pitching they'll just flounder.ClassicO wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 20:34 pm I watched the Springfield games and they’re the only team that interests me with the three best players we have that could make the Cards and be contributors.

McGreevy, Roby, Hence, Mathews, Chen Wei Lin, Hjerpe and Ixan Henderson are going to have to take root. We have to have great pitching alongside good pitching. I really don't know if there is a Sonny Gray...ace like...pitcher in this group. Hopefully they grab a real stud pitcher as #5 in July.
We have studs in the system and the potential to be better than our payroll. We are not a weak farm system as some would say. Springfield is one of the strongest affiliates this year. Memphis is competitive. Peoria and Palm Beach just forgot the pitching side.... We need to reinvigorate the International element...which is what I think Chaim is doing.
I bet in 2-3 years we will be one of the best farm systems in baseball.

I’m with you. Our farm isn’t nearly as devoid of talent as some people want to believe. There’s definitely guys to be excited about in Memphis all the way down to the DSL teams but unless we have a fire sale at the deadline I don’t think our farm will be one of the best in baseball anytime soon. A lot of our top guys will be in the majors within the next year or two.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 21:11 pmThat is a pretty exciting group of players. Re: Minor League Updates (6/15) ~ Cards System
With The Brewers pushing past us and Cincy on our tail, I’d say the odds are good that selling is on the horizon. At least two teams in our division are better than us and we aren’t spending resources to close the gap. By July we will likely be in sell mod and, like you, that won’t be so bad to me.Frontierman wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025 22:18 pmI’m with you. Not worried about promotions undermining our farm outlook. Resources are plowing into the international side, training, etc. can’t wait to see who we draft 5th next month.
Chaim’s strength is farm development. He has a lot to prove.
