You always sit Dead Red and then Adjust to breaking balls.

In defense of Walker there a ton of hitters who “guess” at the plate all the time and are veterans which is worse.

Pete Rose said he always thought fastball because he could adjust to other pitches but was less likely to adjust to a fastball if he was looking for something else.

I assume a major league hitter could adjust to the breaking ball after seeing 3 straight, but McGill grooved a heater to Walker, and he just stared at it.

Inexcusable for him to not sit dead red.

It’s really easy to play armchair hitting coach but the guy has seen nothing but breaking balls with 2 strikes for the last 3 seasons and in that at bat he didn’t see a single fastball until the last pitch. Of course he was looking for the breaking ball.

The Cards have taken a third strike looking 133 times this year which is 18th lowest tied with two other teams. Pittsburgh has the most called third strikes with 175 followed by the Angels with 173. The league average is 139

it's always people who haven't played at any decent level. when the guy is throwing 101 with an 82mph slider. You almost have to sit on one or the other. if you guess wrong you can't react to 101 while expecting 82. smh
