Re: Favorite Cardinal
Rolen. I played third base, and when we got, at least in the time since I had been a fan, a bonafide third baseman, that was it for me.
Currently? Contreras, Scott. I like Pages. Good to live vicariously through some chunky fellas. Herrera could easily end up on this list. Winn.

Re: Favorite Cardinal
In the 80s my favorite was Willie. Though Ozzie and Vince were up there as well as Tudor.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑14 Jun 2025 23:24 pm All time its #51! Retire the number!
Currently its Contreras, Donny, Herrera, Walker and Winn in that order.
90s would be McGwire then benes.
This Century is Pujols then Wainwright, Yadi, Carpenter (Chris).
This decade would be Goldy then Arenado.

Current Cardinal? Easily Willy C. Only player with personality and talent to back it up.
Re: Favorite Cardinal
It will always be Lou Brock. I had the opportunity to meet him three times, and he was a wonderful gentleman. He is missed.
Albert was fun to cheer for in his first 11 seasons, and I'm so glad he had his triumphant return.
My brother and I purchased a brick when Busch III was built: "Brock to Pujols, Fans Forever"

When I was very young, it was Ken Boyer.
Now (at age 66) were I to own a Cardinals jersey, it would be number "23", and say "Simmons".

Kenny Boyer, of course. That man could play some ball. He should be in the HOF. At age 12, I almost had a heart attack when he hit the game winning WS grand slam in 1964.
Re: Favorite Cardinal
I am now in my 76th year. Musial was my favorite followed by Lindy McDaniel. I was a huge Boyer fan and loved Simmons. Big Mac was a God send and Yadi, Albert & Waino were glue. I liked Paul DeJong and Goldy. Right now….nobody.
