Alexis Lafreniere
Hearing rumours out of New York that Lafreniere may be available. Have to think the Blues would be in on that possibility...
Re: Alexis Lafreniere
Why would the Blues who already have a surplus of wingers be in on Lafreniere?bluecalgary wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 11:30 am Hearing rumours out of New York that Lafreniere may be available. Have to think the Blues would be in on that possibility...
Blues have 2 big needs - #2 center and #2 right-handed D. Lafreniere solves neither of those.
Re: Alexis Lafreniere
I believe he's a LW so which of these is he clearly an upgrade over:

Could you imagine having back to back years having the #1 and #2 overall and trading both within 5 years of them being drafted.bluecalgary wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 11:30 am Hearing rumours out of New York that Lafreniere may be available. Have to think the Blues would be in on that possibility...

Imagine having the #2 overall and trading him for a #4-6 defenseman, a 3rd, and a 6th.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 12:24 pmCould you imagine having back to back years having the #1 and #2 overall and trading both within 5 years of them being drafted.bluecalgary wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 11:30 am Hearing rumours out of New York that Lafreniere may be available. Re: Alexis Lafreniere
I’ve seen a decent number of rumors that they will probably trade K’Andre Miller as well. He didn’t have a very good year, but apparently he wants more money than the Rangers want to pay. No, I’m not suggesting the Blues go after him. But he is another key young guy that just hasn’t really developed in New York. The Rangers will definitely be an interesting team to watch this summer. But if I’m a Rangers fan, I’m not sure if I would be very comfortable with Drury pulling the trigger on deals. I think he’s in over his head.

I know. I’m asking too in terms of Holloway. I’d say no right now though

Re: Alexis Lafreniere
Based on last season I'd say no, but Holloway has to prove he's got that kind of year in him again. That fact that we're even comparing the #1 overall with the #14 from the same year is pretty telling though.theograce wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 12:51 pmI know. I’m asking too in terms of Holloway. Re: Alexis Lafreniere
All the metrics you don’t see are what impressed me about Holloway. Top speed, shot, net front presence/not afraid of the slot…closing in on puck carriers. Small sample you’re rightbluetunehead wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 12:59 pmBased on last season I'd say no, but Holloway has to prove he's got that kind of year in him again. In theory that is what you need in the playoffs.

Miller isn't without warts, but that D starts to look real bad if it's just Fox and then Schneider, Borgen, Soucy, etc.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 12:50 pm I’ve seen a decent number of rumors that they will probably trade K’Andre Miller as well. There's just no way they can trade him away. They need to keep him otherwise they are hurting big on defense. They'll have no choice essentially but to pay him.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 12:50 pm I’ve seen a decent number of rumors that they will probably trade K’Andre Miller as well.
