A true rising star in the roots music genre, and an excellent
guitarist, appearing at The Hawthorn. Her band is first rate as well. October 10, 2025. The flyer I saw mentions several special guests, but not her band Golden Highway. So it may be a new, more solo oriented show.
The venue is new to me, just opened in 2022, on Washington Ave. Anyone been there? The description sounds a bit like The Pagent.

Re: Molly Tuttle at The Hawthorn
I saw Molly with Golden Highway when they came through town last summer and it was fantastic. Molly recorded with a new band for her most recent music. From what I've heard of it, it sounds like she's going pop. If that's true, I get it from her standpoint, but I have no interest. While she's a great guitar player, it was the band she surrounded herself with in Golden Highway that really spoke to me. I've been a fan of Kyle Tuttle for many years from before he joined with Molly and Bronwyn is one of the best fiddle players in the genre. Domonic is a solid player and Shelbie is fine on bass. I hope Golden Highway isn't done for good, but if it is I'm more likely to seek out the other members of the band than see Molly play pop music.

Oh, I certainly don't blame her. You're spot on, she very well could become a successful pop star and make a heck of a lot more money than she every could in the bluegrass world. If that's the way she goes, I will wish her well, but I won't be one of the people in the crowd.
