Today I'd:
DFA - Roycrap & Vilade
Both are useless, NOT "runway players" and NOT ML caliber players.
Vilade DFA'd, Roycroft demoted, Granillo and Siani called up

I think you will see Siani in the starting lineup for a day or so. Scott has been hitting under .200 for a month. So I'd expect Siani to give Scott a day or so to work things out. Granillo will be fine IF he keeps the walks under controll.

And he's done that this season horse, he has a sterling 46 strikeouts-to-only 8 walks!HorseTrader wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:13 pm I think you will see Siani in the starting lineup for a day or so. Yes he has this year and at other times. Hopefully he keeps it up until early Novemberrockondlouie wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:18 pmAnd he's done that this season horse, he has a sterling 46 strikeouts-to-only 8 walks!HorseTrader wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:13 pm I think you will see Siani in the starting lineup for a day or so. Wish Church or Antico had been called up instead of Siani.

If he did it while sleep walking, I think that's defensible in court.DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:08 pm About a week too late, but, better late then never. Granillo must have been wandering if he accidentally slept with Mo's wife, or something, jeez!

I don’t understand the negativity towards Siani. An Old Friend wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:18 pmSiani has been really good in Memphis with a 110 wRC+.
2024: he only played so much because there were no other options.
2025: barely played in April.
He will mostly be a d replacement and PR. Ppl need to calm down.

Anxious to see Granillo!
Won’t miss Roycroft. Was he demoted or deported??
Nothing against Vilade but since he didn’t hit might as well have Siani who is an excellent defender, base runner, and bunter.
Besides he’ll only be a temp as Walker should be back soon.

He's got a miniscule whip and 14 K/9 in... I'd say he has a pretty good chance to do well in St Louis. Here's hoping for a good start.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 13:47 pm About time. Granillo may not turn out to be great but he certainly earned his chance to pitch instead of the scrubs they have been calling up
Re: Vilade DFA'd, Roycroft demoted, Granillo and Siani called up
Scott has gone 3 for 10 over the last 3 games with 2 walks and a steal since being sat on Sunday vs the Dodgers. So it would be very much an Oli move to sit him for Siani.HorseTrader wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:13 pm I think you will see Siani in the starting lineup for a day or so. I'd like to see him get some run as a strong side platoon in CF. The problem is that they need a weak side platoon in CF.ecleme22 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:31 pmI don’t understand the negativity towards Siani. An Old Friend wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:18 pmSiani has been really good in Memphis with a 110 wRC+.

It's not negativity toward Siani, it's negativity toward Marmol who overplayed him last year. And you really have no idea how Marmol will play him now, just a guess like the rest of us.ecleme22 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:31 pmI don’t understand the negativity towards Siani. An Old Friend wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 14:18 pmSiani has been really good in Memphis with a 110 wRC+.

Maybe some nice turbulent drama for them headed into the series, to be 3 games above .500 and have a pitcher who is not the team player Steven Matz is.

Rumors had been circulating that Civale was going to be traded at the deadline by Brewers. So guess by going public, maybe he is hoping to accelerate his departure. Usually not the best look by a player to do so .

What am I going to complain about now? Based on the players in their system, this was the only move that made sense. Granillo put up the best numbers of any of their minor league relievers. He could potentially be another 7th inning guy. Roycroft actually has decent stuff. I am sure he will return. He pitched well yesterday. He just needs better control.
Vilade earned his shot, but clearly is a AAAA player and DFA'ing him was the right decision. Siani we know has real value. Yes, he can't hit. But, he is a stud fielder and a fast runner. So, he is a late innings defensive replacement, can play occasionally for Scott or 1 of the other OFs. Vilade had none of those skills.
When Walker returns, when Walker returns, Barrero should be the next one to go. Then arguably they are playing with their best roster and they have Saggese at AAA to supplement the roster as required.
