Bokk and Dean are former 1st rounders who had trade value. Perhaps they could move Jincek as #1 pick.

DawgDad wrote: 11 Jun 2025 00:32 am Let's just declare Jiricek a bust, then you guys can stop all this nonsense. I mean, all this debate accomplishes NOTHING! There are no conclusions to draw despite your best efforts because his prospect path is a work-in-progress. 2-3 years from now when he surfaces in the NHL you guys can jump on his bandwagon.
Alternatively, lets just pretend that everything will be fine. Army is best GM ever. And as long as Jiricek makes 1 start on the Blues roster, the pick was a success. Thats what we did with Perunovich. Ultimately, lets blame it on the kid, not Army.
Okay, then, I'm good with "pretend", but you need to watch your misuse of "we".
There is no real comparison between Perunovich and Jiricek another dumb post. 45th pick, decent college player not really the same pedigree wouldnt we agree. Is the point that not every one of Armys amateur dept picks have panned out so Army must be bad? We all know Army and Tony Feltrin, Jan Vopat, J Niemiec, Picard, Kinsella and others have done an outstanding job at drafting and developing so......the Blues were in no way alone on their draft position with Jiricek but its Summer and there must be something to cry and moan about.
You’re right. Perunovich is a poor comp. He’s a 5’10” lefty taken in the 2nd. Jiricek is a 6’2” righty taken in the 1st. Jordan Schmaltz would be the better comparable.
Well to be honest, Jordan Schmaltz tweet game is pretty strong though.

Lets try it this way….

With regard to Jiricek, we all will know that Army is at fault for drafting him, when ______________. Indicate timing and testing criteria.

We all will know that Army should be congratulated on the Jiricek pick when ________________.

My guess is that everyone on this thread can tell you the answer to #2. Not one person will answer #1.

I would imagine if you wandered into the neighbors yard and you saw a steaming runny pile of that Boxer's dung, that the pile of dung would run circles around Mongo's hockey IQ.

I'll answer for you. If history repeats.... When a prospect fades, only the prospect is blamed. Army's selection of the prospect is never questioned.

If anyone can find a single article criticizing Army's draft selections, please share it. You won't find one.

Despite this heavy disconnect between Army and prospect failures, when a prospect succeeds, Army gets all the credit. Disgusting.

In a world where any idiot with a computer can write a screed and publish it to a blog,

where you can feed the thesis of your screed into an AI and have it write the blog for you,

where forumgoers fumble clumsily in the darkness of Army's draft failures,

a hero will emerge to illuminate the darkness.

This summer, while two teams war for the holiest trophy in sports, one fan will work tirelessly to get to the bottom of the conspiracy.

From the fractured minds that gave you Bleedr, For the Good of the Board, Bomac, and Rue the Day comes the latest forum blockbuster:

Smells Like Armweak.

Seriously, there's no article because nobody is dumb enough to publish an article on draft misses for a guy who hits above his draft position. Plenty of articles about how well the Blues have done drafting under Army relative to teams with more lottery picks. Every team has misses, most have more than the Blues. Feel free to write the article that you believe is badly needed. Just lock the comments section before posting if you're at all sensitive...
