Landed on an interesting podcast hosted by Julian Edelman of NE Patriots. If you have the time to view or listen to it, it's worth checking out.
He goes into the trade. Apparently, he asked Sinden to send him to Philly. But when word started getting around that he was being shopped, many more clubs were in the discussion. Turns out the Blues were one of them (This was the 2001 team with Turek, Pronger, Young, Turgeon, etc.) that was a year removed from Presidents' Trophy and ended up losing to the Avs in the Conf Finals. Ray was asked about St. Louis, but said he didn't want to come here.
I mention this because a lot of folks give Mr. Pleau a lot of grief, but he was always working to improve this team. (He was also in the discussion for Hasek, but he didn't want to come here.)
Again, this is a great episode and worth the listen.

As far as Hasek, it's been rumored that if he had known we had traded for Weight he would have signed our contract. He wasn't aware so he thought Detroit gave him the better chance to win, and ultimately they did.
