Dodgers
1 run in their 18 innings vs Cardinals and that was a gift!
Either M. McGreevy will mow them down and continue their slump....
...or the poor kid is gonna get lit up by a way, way overdue awesome lineup about to lay it on someone.
Let's hop the kid keeps them scuffling and hurls six shutout inning!
I hope the Dodgers continue scuffling through today and then take it out on the Padres and Giants this week. But if they continued scuffling through this coming week they could be looking up at the 3rd WC spot.

Math odds say Ohtani should hit a HR today as he averages a HR every 3 games and didn’t hit one yet.
Doesn’t mean it is guaranteed .
Not how odds work. In the next 3 games Ohtani will likely get a HR.
If I flip a coin 3 times and heads comes up 3 times my odds of getting tails is still 50% on the 4th time.

The Cardinals have pretty much no choice here unless they wanted send down a position player for a bullpen arm and keep Matz out of the pen Fri & Sat in order to start today.
All teams are limited to 13 pitchers on the 26-man roster.
Yep, and i miscounted. Fair critique. So, the Cardinals basically had no choice sans playing shorthanded against the Dodgers.
Just have to hope he didn’t grow up a Dodger fan and is overly excited to pitch against them as he grew up in So Calf - otherwise he is a very poised kid.
6IP and 4ER in his first start at the MLB level this year. Against a team that's got more bats than a dark cave. I'd say he held his own. Most importantly, he gave some innings. That's going to be big over the course of this month.
Also credit to McGreevy to make some changes mid-start and start over again. That's a great skill to have.

This. Very impressive outing. Here's hoping he draws some more starting assignments. No walks in 6 innings against the Dodgers? Says a lot.

And being the Dodgers we’re attempting to starve off a sweep. Tough task for any pitcher.
